Cold Fire Rising by BrightLotusMoon. She has a few more stories in the series that I want to check out too so I definitely recommend it because she's really awesome at what she does.

Happy maker: Working on another chapter of my fan fic made me happy today and eating some Burger King also made me pretty happy.

I recently tried the tots and it might just be me but didn't taste like they did several years ago. Still decent though. I use to get an original chicken sandwich with cheesy tots all the time. Yum yum.

Had my eye appointment today and all is well. The eye is five years old so they want to see if they can get two more years out of it before I have to get a new one which is fine with me. Had some buildup in the prosthesis and had some redness in the socket, but that cleared up pretty quickly. Got done in fifteen minutes and got home at three-thirty Central time.

Also, Dad was good for my brother and wasn't crabby which was a relief. We stopped at McDonald's in Lafayette, IN for lunch and sat inside to eat which felt nice.

Happy maker: It's my dad's birthday today! He's seventy years old and he's pretty lucky to be celebrating it as he almost didn't make it to seventy!

Thanks. We just had a small party for him with food and some cupcakes since he didn't want a cake. Mom and I got him two funny cards. One said that it was another birthday and we've got to hand it to him which is a joke since we sometimes have to hand him things. Then on the inside it says, "Because God knows you're too old to bend over and get it yourself." The other card says, "I went to Hell and back to get you this card so if you don't like it you know where to go to return it." He got a kick out of that one.

He was actually able to blow out his candle which was good because he couldn't do that last year. He's watching the Chicago Cubs game right now.

Going to the 50th wedding anniversary party for one of my aunts today. Should be a fun little family gathering. (Only down side is I have to deal with the stepdud. It's his sister's anniversary.)

Thanks. Well the anniversary went well, there were a lot more people there than we had expected to see. Not just family but some of their friends and coworkers who had known them a long time too. With so many people around it was fairly easy to avoid him. We ended up on opposite ends of their house for the buffet-style luncheon after the vow renewal ceremony. With so many people around it was fairly easy to avoid him. We ended up on opposite ends of their house for the buffet-style luncheon after the vow renewal ceremony. They got "remarried" in a car lol! Apparently my step-aunt's husband's parents had been married in a car so since they had both passed away early this year they decided to honor their memory by having their renewal in one too. My dad left pretty early because he's antisocial and hates being around a lot of people. We enjoyed it though. Got to see everyone on that side of the family, and took some pics of the ceremony and the cake-cutting. The food was all done by my cousin (their son) and it was great! And there was a TON of it too. Brought home some extra, and before we came home we went back over to my parents house (they are neighbors- they have the 50 acres next to my parents 50) and I went out in the pasture to hunt for puffballs while their baby calf ran around nearby. Only found one and it was past being edible but I had a good laugh at the cows. The calf and her mama were playing "king of the hill" on a big mound of dirt near their hay bale feeder.
