Or leave it 7 or 8 years and release wave after wave, some repaints and sell them only in the US...

I don't suppose anyone has any updates regarding the continuation of this line?

NYCC starts October 5th, unless there's a toy show in Japan before that, few would know any information whether Shredder will be released or not.

While I think I may have preferred the overall look of NECA's figures ... I still think this series was pretty awesome and it'll be a shame if it stops at just the four turtles.

My Bluefin rep just called me since he knew I was hard up for info about this. The Shredder has officially been cancelled as of today. He did however mention that Bluefin is working on getting this to be a convention exclusive for their company.

The reason is that apparently the turtles didnt do well enough GLOBALLY. He said they sold like crazy in the US, but that everywhere else was lack luster.

Sold like crazy in the country where they could be sold in a physical store, and most online stores was probably located in the US

It makes me sad so much TMNT stuff is being cancelled.
Hopefully Shredder can indeed become a convention exclusive.

Last year felt like a Golden Age for high-end TMNT merchandise. This year feels like the beginning of another Ice Age!

Well, I'm hoping that won't be the case ... sure it's a shame that these ended up "under performing" but some other releases like MONDO's figures just didn't live up to what was expected. I'm sure besides what NECA is putting out that there will be more TMNT stuff down the line.

Sadly we are probably seeing the ugly downside to having all the wonderful options that we have seen released in the last two years. The reality is that most of the market for any license is going to be made up of more casual fans. And for that type of individual, one high end figure might be a reasonable purchase, four high-end figures is a much bigger stretch. And then when you put Revoltech, Figurarts, NECA, Dream Ex, Threezero, First Gokin, and Mondo up against each other, all producing products that have to compete for the same fan Dollars and the outcome isn't surprising in the least.

I thought the Dream EX, First Gokin, and Mondo stuff was market oversaturation. They always looked like weird mash-up of various franchise incarnations. Did Threezero only do Bay-verse turtles?

I would have been happy if Revoletch, NECA, Figuarts, and Mega Bloks/Construx could have all reaped the riches for doing their various things.

Well ThreeZero also worked on these goofy lookin' Eastman ones too ... but I can't find if they came out at all? Pretty sure they didn't.
