No I haven't seen the animated shows, I guess that will likely be covered in the movie however it still doesn't explain ......

What the, that would've made sense and been awesome in an Obi Wan movie but in a Han Solo movie as a gangster?

I'm glad a SW movie will actually acknowledge a major event from an animated series. In the past it's just been little nods here and there.

This is the first real example of Kennedy-approved Star Wars EU stuff changing major stuff/characters carrying over into the actual live action films.
And no, nobody cares about Saw Gerrera.

"Always three there are. The master and the apprentice... and Darth Maul, somewhere in the shadows."
Wait, what?

I guess it could be read that he no longer considers himself a Sith or a member of their order... so the "Rule of Two" doesn't apply to him.

At least they can make the argument that Maul was no longer a Sith and the Rule of Two still applied. What gets me is having Ventress essentially be the apprentice to the apprentice. I think they just referred to her as Dooku's assassin to avoid breaking the rule but she was basically a Sith trained by Dooku.

The rule of two never made much sense even if it sounded cool. I don't mind Darth Maul being alive, I think that's really cool actually, it was only his debut episodes in the Clone Wars were he was acting like a hobo that sucked. I wasn't a fan of his "super evil brother" Savaj Opress or whatever he was called either.
He just shouldn't be in a Han Solo movie but I mean if the Obi Wan movie is actually happening I"d love to see Obi Wan vs Darth Maul Round 2 in a movie. It's the only reason to bring him back IMO. Ironically enough the old EU story of Darth Maul being alive with robot legs fighting Obi Wan in the pre-OT era was deemed so crazy that it was non-canon. |

They could always redo/expand that scene in the Obi-Wan movie.

So Solo has "only" a 71% on rotten:
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/sol...ar_wars_story/ While that score is decent by other movie standards, for a Disney Star Wars movie it's the lowest to date, as TFA, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi all have much, much higher. Most likely Disney is going to take the low score seriously, I doubt this will get any sequels. I can't imaging the business execs at Disney are happy right now. |
