Rosanne and Gunn are very different instances, though. Rosanne wasn't fired for her past crappies, nor for her dressed as Hitler burning gingerbread men pictures. But for current "mishaps"

While Gunn was fired for something Disney well knew about, heck he was hired for it most likely. And people did have a fit about it during GotG1 and he apologized for his edgelord comedian period and wasn't fired them.

If I were to speculate, I think it's more... the right taking revenge on the left by using their own game against them to eliminate on of their own.

But no matter who "Called Dad," it still boils down to Disney acting on this and firing Gunn. Nobody held a gun to their head. Nobody.

Also, Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt have chimed in:

Essentially: "We feel like we need to say something, so we're going to say... words. And stuff. But not really defend Gunn."

Cowards.

That is super disappointing. They need to quit playing it safe and stick by someone if they actually support them. Either support them or don't, but leave off the half-assing.

Super disappointing. The people whose words arguably would have helped the most and who benefited the most from Gunn's films are the ones who do nothing.

I'd argue against your former point, but the latter Rings true to me. There is certainly a movement of people politically motivated to stir ****, and then when something bad happens as a result of their work, they fall back on it all having been a joke to begin with.

The article I referenced on the previous shows an example of this. The guy wrote and shot numerous videos about liberal conspiracies involving the abuse of children, and when his parents tried to kick his friendless freeloading ass out of the house, he stabbed and killed his father while accusing both parents of abusing children.

And the people who radicalized him in the first place all seemed shocked, because they thought he knew they were kidding.

At least Bautista is a stand-up guy.

I agree if not For Gunn Pratt would still be a nobody on Parks and Rec. The Chick who played Mantis just wrote we are groot we are family and Karen Gillian said the same thing Zoe did love to our GOTG Family

Correct. And Zoe would still be sitting around waiting to do Avatar 2.

In other words, vague support that is essentially meaningless.

I'm more disappointed with Pratt, than I am with the other people in the cast. They have more than he does to lose, and so I find it understandable that they aren't sticking their necks out more than absolutely necessary.

Their hollywood lifespan is very different than Pratt's is.

Do I wish they would all be as vocal as say, Bobcat Goldthwait? Oh heck yes.
But I also understand their reticence.

I was in the middle of the James Gunn episode of the "Inside of You" podcast when the news broke, which made watching the story unfold that much more interesting.

Rosenbaum's timing is impeccable, in that he had an interview with Hardwick right around the time that that story broke too.

So how likely is it that GotG 3 will be worse now?

According to the podcast, he's got a 75 page treatment already completed.
So I have a feeling the third one will be like Ant-man, in that you'll be able to feel his influence, even if he's not at the helm.

It's entirely possible Disney/Marvel will make it a point not to use said treatment, simply to make it clear they've severed all ties and salted the earth of him.

You think Disney didn't know about Rosanne? She didn't just start saying crazy stuff when her show came back.

Should have posted this yesterday... but the thought to me simply is, if you can't let a person own a mistake, apologise, move on and try to better from learning off it... then you might as well just never release anyone from prison. Same principle.

Nope, career has to be ruined and they have to be blacklisted. It's "progress."

This article makes a good point about how the movie series is a group of scumbags looking to make good. What would have happened had Yondu not pulled Star Lord out in time? So many more examples with both films. Disney cares more about immediately cash backlash then allowing his film series to express the very thing it empasizes.

Its also funny how Roseanne Barr cannot tell the difference.
