It's just some banner to put the Joker movie under so people know it's not part of the DCEU, not a new direction for the whole studio. They seemed hesitant to even acknowledge the "Worlds of DC" at SDCC.

Yeah, if you're going to relabel something that most of the audience already refers to as the DCEU, I think they'd have been more explicit. Like, laying out a gameplan and saying "This is our map for the Worlds of DC!!!!"

And then we'd still kvetch about it.

There's been a report from Production Weekly stating that shooting for the film begins early next year and Affleck will be serving as a producer for the film.

I will believe this movie the first day of actual shooting. There have been so many false starts. As soon as official shooting takes place I will want to know who the villain(s) are going to be.

An interesting sidenote is Black Mask potentially being the antagonist of a Birds of Prey film.

Not really. Only one false start that I can think of, when Affleck was aboard as director and they were racing to meet the Spring deadline. The rest is all FAKE news.

Unused Affleck script was "best Batman script ever" according to a storyboard artist

Eh, I doubt it. If it really was "the best Batman story ever", WB would have used the script.

...

Although, this is Warner Brothers / DCEU we're talking about, so maybe it's NOT out of the question.

Let's not forget that "the Affleck script" is the "the Affleck AND Geoff Johns script."

So no. It's probably full of frat boyisms and "look at how COOL Batman is" kind of stuff. Launching that script into the garbage and making Geoff Johns cry into the pillow is probably the only smart move WB has made yet about their CBMs.

Reeves went to visit an exhibit featuring costumes and props from the 1960's TV series. I wonder if that's the kind of approach he wants to use for this film. After all, Shazaam will be taking a lighter approach as opposed to the previous dark and gritty DC films.

https://www.cinemablend.com/news/245...man-66-exhibit

He might even be planning on having Robin as part of the film.

Quote:
And as far as Robin starring in the next iteration of Batman?

Exclaimed Reeves, “I can’t comment on any of that stuff!”

Still feeling the phantom pain of Ben Affleck's Batman script not being used. His approach to a noir-driven film, similar to Seven, along with comments from those who have read the script really make it sound like something special.

That said, I am anticipating Matt Reeve's film with optimism. Optimistic he can do a great job. Robin is certainly not something I expected to see, based on his previous comments regarding his vision for the film, but I do see how the "Bat-Family" may seem like untouched potential for the big screen. We've had a lot of Batman films over the past decade, and he's been on his own for a while.

Here's some REAL news about The Batman: the script (this 1st draft anyway) is finally finished.

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/batma...enplay-a163526

The rest of the article is all FAKE news, though. Reeves has never been talking about "a younger Batman," that was spread around by FAKE articles so much that people are reciting it like fact.

I think we've had more "Ben Affleck in/out as Batman" news stories than Bigfoot sightings across the entire Southwest in the last century.

In FAKE media stuff, that's feeding into itself over and over again.
