Great, glad to hear about the release of vol. 6!

While I wouldn't count on it, maybe they'll release the CBS bunch in a 2-disc set. That would certainly cut down on the time it takes to get through the series.
Thanks for that info, since I had forgotten exactly when the CBS episodes started. There were a couple of sites that claimed they started at the beginning of the 1990 season, but I knew that wasn't right since I remember seeing some of the episodes from the 1990 season in syndication.

Here's a picture of the box art for TMNT: Volume 6. I'm glad to see it's coming out this year. I hope they keep releasing these volumes quickly.

Guess they're keeping with their routine (since Vol. 3), so will have the remainder of Season 3 and the first ep. of Season 4.

Maybe this cover isn't 100% yet, they could change it back to 11 episodes..

Or maybe they included the first episode of season 4 so volume 7 could start with the european vacation? You think that's possible? Volume 7 would then include all the 13 EV episode and Vol. 8 start with the second episode of season 4. And BTW, why does Splinter look like the 2003 version?? Next think we'll see is the Utrom Shredder on the classic TMNT cover!!!

I must have missed something growing up... what 13 episode European Vacation? I've never seen that... Not to mention I didn't know where season 4 takes of from in the first place.

The "Vacation" episodes were a late-aired part of TMNT (supposed to be part of Season 4 -- as another ep., that did air regularly, has the Turtles winning said vacation -- but the vacation episodes weren't aired til TMNT's time on USA Network). With the Turtles and Splinter (as well as Channel 6 News crew) travelling various areas of Europe.

Also, why do they have to have the covers looking like the 2003 series. The 1987 series was popular enough, they don't need to tie it in with the new show. The classic cartoon is selling alot better than the new series, at least on amazon, so why these covers? And have you noticed that there is never a picture of the shredder on the back? it's because he looks so different from the utrom shredder, and obviously every thing that's different from the new show is a no no!!!

i know it seriously made me shiver and sent me over the edge...I know it's lame to be upset over artwork...but it just shows we all care...they are just trying to cash in on the look of the new show...which isn't even very profitable in the first place.

Perhaps the 12th episode is a Bonus epsiode like on Volume 1 from the last season?

This way they can promote "never before aired shows".

Actually I kinda like the pink look, and the turtles are just the same as on previous covers, but it's splinter that really annoys me. Where did you get this cover art BTW, I can't find it anywhere. Maybe it's not 100% this is the cover???

It's linked from DVD Empire. So, take a wild guess. I guess it's not a valid claim to say that they're swiping 2K3's character designs. I don't know any Splinter that only has four fingers... I guess whoever compared Volume Five's cover to Family Guy just because of the chin had foretold the future. Does that scare anyone else?

I don't see what the big deal is of them including the first episode of Season 4.

These aren't "season sets" anymore, they're just 12 or so episodes on and on and on.

It's a reason they call them "Volume 1,2,..etc" instead of "Season 1, 2...etc"

As long as the episodes are in order, that's all that matters. (Sadly, you can't say the same for the 2k3 series with the screwed up order)

Fortunately, usually within the short period of time that DVD Empire gets the art, tvshowsondvd.com gets a full press release with all of the juicy details. I am sure we will have a full report in a week or so. As for the cover at...I don't understand the Splinter art at all. I really think they should focus the covers more on the original show because that is what the people are buying. They are not tricking little kids into having their moms buy this for them thinking it is the new series. Everyone knows what they are getting here.

They should include original artwork similar to the old VHS release and have a nice detailed insert with original airdates and perhaps behind the scenes information. These DVD's are way too rushed for a big profit. I am hopeful that somewhere in the future they will put out a TMNT collector's release of some sort with viable box art or perhaps a storage box for all of these that represent the 1987 cartoon we all know and love. It is all a marketing gimmick to get us to buy the same DVD's twice. Maybe in five years, re-release everything with extras and new artwork. How many DVD's do they do this with? Rush a release, then in a year come out with a "fully loaded" with more extras and new artwork. (i.e. I Robot & Day After Tomorrow)
