Grades came out, and I did really well thanks to a VERY generous curve!
Good luck going out to anyone else waiting for grades from this semester!

Office photos got done today. ladies son about my age came in, saw my office with all the props and got tickled pink seeing R2 come to life. thankfully the batteries where still all charged up and he could move around the office a bit.
So somewhere out there there is a photo of a guy with my R2, 3P0 and Slimer puppet out there. it's the little things that brighten someones day.

Have done our good deed for the day. Last night a cat was yowling outside our apartment, so we went out to see what was up. It turned out to be a kitten about 7 wks old, hungry, thirsty, and VERY skittish. Could not caych it, but left some food and water out for it. Food was gone this morning, and the kitten was inside the engine compartment of a neighbor's truck meowing again down by the far end of our building. We finally coaxed it out with food and a string (playful little thing!) and managed to gradually get close enough to pick it up, pet it, hold it, and give it more food and water. Long story short, she (it's a little girl! A cute orange tabby bicolor) is now camped out in our bathroom with food, water, a litterbox, and a cat bed that ours don't use. I put a stuffed leopard in the bed with her, as she immediately tried to cozy up to our girls as soon as she saw them, but they were not having it. (Since she is still young, I think she was looking for mama, and figured a surrogate would do.) We will have to find a more permanent home for her, as we van only have two cats here, but at least she is safe and aclimating!

Aw yeah, kitten rescue! Around the same age as ours too. Her name is officially Piper now.
I had my first pool day. With my cousin, her husband, and their son. That was a lot of fun. Ben barely stayed in the kiddie pool; he was able to walk out on his own. He seemed to prefer the big pool.

Yeah, she's a cutie! Already starting to take food from our hand. Mr D gave her a couple of the treats we give our two, and she is already comfortable enough in the bathroom to take a nap in the bed. Should do well, if we can find her a home. She is shy, but I think once she gets used to people, she will be friendly. I have tentatively named her Tigerlily. (We have a sort of "tradition" of naming cats after tv/movie characters, and the Indian princess from Peter Pan seems fitting due to her color and gender. He suggested Tiger, but I added the lily to make it more feminine.)

Piper, I like that.
I wasn't intending on buying clothing at Target, but spotted a TMNT shirt I couldn't leave behind. (Was surprised to see one at all since TMNT merchandise is down to almost nothing these days, at least around here.) It's a sleeveless womens/juniors shirt reading... "Too lit to quit." Huh? Given that it's the FW Turtles (when is it not) via Target, I'm sure it meant an entirely innocent, albeit newer, use of the word, but given OTHER very longtime slang meanings (supposedly it has been slang for "intoxicated" for over a century - yes I looked it up).... hilarious. Esp with it being rather legitimately ironic as the regular understanding of that slang would never fit me or the TMNT (maybe sans Mirage). edit: Was able to find an image online. Always glad to find one that's a little different than the usual thing we see over and over again. Last edited by IndigoErth; 06-10-2018 at 05:32 PM. |

We've been contemplating names- Tigerlily, Nala, Klunk, or Neko.

My cousin's son played with my Utrom plushes a little today. By that I mean "rolling the two most feared warlords in Dimension X around on their sides because he likes to roll things".
And then this happened. Adding hypothetical insult to injury. Finally he dumped them to play with other things. And it just happened to end up looking like this. I already have plenty of more material to make a few more Utroms, but I'm definitely making one for Ben since he seemed to like them so much. Gotta make sure I get all the threads really secure, though...

Adorable. And awesome you're making him one.
Who knows... maybe it'll be the first stepping stone to him showing up here one day. |

If it's even still around by the time he's ready .
I just noticed Photoshop has an optional symmetry tool now and it's changed everything. (Also, it finally clicked how Utroms look like brains and I'm experimenting with playing that up more than OT Krang ever did...and now things make even more sense.) Might even be able to make a plush out of that design. All thanks to this handy 3D brain. Good day for art.

Finally got the chance to give the Half Shell Heroes video a watch with my nephew. Other than a few board books, it was his first introduction to TMNT, far as I know. Other than a couple short instances of getting antsy, being that he turned 2 only three weeks ago, he was otherwise glued to it for the majority of it.

finally upgraded just about everything that needed upgrading.
through out 10 year old pants that where falling apart. shorts got upgraded next. got rid of an old graphics card that wasn't working out. finally made the jump to theater quality speakers for both tv and pc. upgraded the 14 year old stereo system and tv. and just changed out an 8 year old PC case that was making a noise i couldn't track down. a tad bigger than my old one, but the extra space is nice. will be nice to try and finally save some money for once.

Got a much needed massage (apparently I had some very stiff muscle on top of a terrible headache) and finally went to the ceramic place I've been wanting to go to. Painted some cool stuff for my boyfriend.

The OotS figures finally being shipped, and a family friend's 1-year-olds first birthday, so went with my mom, sister, and nephew who got a chance to play and carry on (including in a kiddie pool) with a couple kids (the birthday girl's brothers) a bit closer to his age. Not something he gets enough chances to do.
He's such a bugger though. He's in that stage where if one person gets a high five, or something else, or in this case hit with an inflatable sword, he has to literally go around and hit every person with it. lol After a little while another person showed up... so he had to go give her an honorary smack with it too out of nowhere, though she'd missed out on the fact that this was a thing. LOL 7/15 - It's raining. What is this? This isn't a thing that happens anymore... or so we came to believe. Last edited by IndigoErth; 07-15-2018 at 09:44 AM. |

I got some of my item cards up in a display (at another museum we're loaning our stuff to...)
They look great. (Also Lewis Cook is awesome. He was paralyzed from the neck down after graduating high school in 1917, but still managed to gain back some mobility in his hands and was able to use pegs to use a typewriter. After that, be became a corresponded for several newspapers and did thorough documentation on various towns around the county and state, including the town I'm working in.)

This was yesterday, but- I got a raise! Not a big one, but much needed. So glad they finally got around to showing some appreciation for always busting my rear.
