If you look at this lineup its just as meaty as all past Nintendo lineups, the only thing its missing is a Metroid game.
An F-zero game is lacking too. When is there going to be another F-Zero game on a domestic console? I know it's hard to top GX but hey, they can try right?

Some Nintendo franchises are dormant for years.

- It took 9 years for Pikmin 3 to come out. Pikmin 2 came out in 2004, and Pikmin 3 in 2013.

- Metroid skipped the N64 generation, it skipped the Wii-U generation too. We once went 7 years between a new Metroid game.

- Starfox literally hasn't had a new game in 10 years. Starfox Command came out on the DS in 2006. Not counting the remake of Starfox64 on the 3DS. Its also been 11 years since the last console game on the Gamecube.

- It took 20 years for a sequel to Punchout and Kid Icarus.

- Earthbound is dead. Mother 3 (with Lucas) came out in 2003.

- F-zero hasn't had a new game in a decade

Pretty much the only Nintendo franchises that we can always expect to be around are Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby and Pokemon. Everything else goes through cycles. There was one point where Fire Emblem was almost dead too and they revived it to massive success.

I like how SSB Melee was what put FE on the map outside of Japan. I remember unlocking Marth and Roy in Melee back in 2002-2003 and wondering "who the hell are these guys?!"

Yeah, odd how Metroid skipped the early 3D era.

After F-Zero GX, there was F-Zero GP Legend for the GBA. I preferred Maximum Velocity and the SNES one, though.

Let's hope that Kid Icarus doesn't take another 20 years for a sequel. I need a sequel to Uprising. Though this time with two Circle Pads or joysticks.

Oh, and you don't even need to go to Walmart to buy last gen games around here. My Target still sells Wii and DS games.

There's a Star Fox game coming out on the Wii U sometime this year...

I just bought my wii u couple years ago and love it and more importantly , play it a lot more than the wii. Personally, I hope the "NX" is not coming this year but next. Will be nice to get a couple more years of life out it before it's a old console and all the new games get releases on the new hardware .

This is exactly how I feel, though my hopes are not very high, personally, since I know the odds are so low.

I feel like its price is part of what really made Wii U sales suffer. I was so lucky I got one, and it was only because my mother got a really good bonus for the holidays the year I got it. If they had dialed it back a little and put the damn thing on SALE more often or just started manufacturing a cheaper, perhaps gamepad-less option [selling the gamepads separately?] it would have done better? Because seriously, most of my friends don't have a Wii U and they specifically tell me it's because it's too expensive.

I've been playing with Miitomo and it's pretty fun; It's basically an improved but stripped down version of Tomodachi Life. It works because I don't want tos pend more than 2 minutes on the app anyway, I don't like having games on my phone. A big problem is all the loading, the game is very slow. I'm also already confused by all the new currencies here and on MyNintendo. So Tomodachi Life has Coins, Miitomo Coins and Tickets while My Nintendo has Miitomo Coins, Silver Coins and Gold Coins. It gets confusing, I don't really know the difference between Miitomo Coins and Silver Coins.

Anyone here need Miitomo friends? Add me on twitter and viceversa so we can be friends on Miitomo. http://Twitter.com/0sdp

I wish there was a better way to add friends on Miitomo

Yeah. I get that Nintendo expects people to add their real life friends. And, that makes since, because this app is all about sharing information about yourself. That being said, Facebook and Twitter doesn't account for all relationships. I haven't run into anyone I've wanted to add, but wasn't connected in one of those ways, but I'm sure plenty of people will. Especially younger people.

Miitomo is killing the battery life on my phone even if I don't use it and yes I've used it on "low power" mode. I'm going to try to kill any background stuff its doing if not it may need to be uninstalled as much as I enjoy spending 5 minutes on it everyday.

Lots of news today. Surprised no one is talking about this here.

Zelda U is getting another delay. This time to March 2017, where it will launch on both Wii U and the NX. https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/...24978984083456

The NX is being released in March 2017. It is being released then instead of this holiday to get better launch games according to Kimishima. It will not be shown at E3. Speaking of E3, Zelda U/NX will be the only playable game there from Nintendo.

Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem will get mobile apps. Nothing is known besides that they will be more game-oriented than Miitomo.

Lot of news to take in. Feeling mixed emotions.

(Oh, and they're selling the Mariners too.)

Goodbye Wii-U, hello 6 year gaps between 3D Zelda's, and the NX is probably not going to sell much better than Wii-U with a March launch.

I don't know what Nintendo is going to do if the NX doesn't sell much differently than the Wii-U. At this point it might very well be the last Nintendo home console since they're not going to keep putting out console after console if they don't sell.
