This was my pledge, but I may up it to something else if I have the spare cash.

Only 48 hours left to get in on the Kickstarter, and just over $18K left to hit their stretch goal!

Go to http://drawingbloodcomic.com now to check it out.

Tons of TMNT related rewards still available and some have been lowered in price to help meet the stretch goal funding!

Radically Rearranged Ronin Ragdolls #1 unlocked! I pitched in an extra $10 at the end to get what I'm sure will be a stunning variant cover by Santolouco!

Awesome look at "Shane Bookman's" Ronin Ragdolls that Bates put on the facebook page a few days ago:

Woah, just three?

It looks like they've all been named after Japanese animators. And all girls? Maybe just Otomo and Tezuka.

Eastman and Laird seems to have been converted to "The Bookman Brothers" too...

Honestly, if that were on the table...shut up and take my money!

(Though, I hope they do get a mini-fanbase around predictions on how they could parallel TMNT through the ages. A FW-Style Ronin Ragdolls would be adorable! With the "original" fans braying about how they're not supposed to be "adorable" )

The namesakes are Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira), Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy), and Haiyo Miazaki (no need for a list!), and their long lost brother coming in 1997, Zeus!

Honestly I would love to see them done in any TMNT style other than the 2012 Nick show

Something got me thinking...as terrible as the "pizza thing" has become...what could possibly be their naturally integrating food thing?

Then I realized...pasta. All the pastas. Little Miyazaki just...getting up in all of it. Introducing the children of the 80's to the fact that there's more to noodles than just spaghetti!

And "imposter/impasta" jokes as far as the eye can see!

Yeah, as overblown as the TMNT's pizza obsession has become they may as well poke fun at it and give the RRRR a similar food fetish. I agree that pasta would be good, I can see them eating a lot of spaghetti, lo mein, ramen, et cetera, even mixed with weird stuff to parody the strange pizza toppings of the Fred Wolf cartoon. That or sushi would be cool.

I hope most of IDW's roster of TMNT artists do some sketches or drawings of the cats, I would love to see them in Santolouco's style, Ben Bishop, Sophie Campbell, Andy Kuhn, and some others too

They'd probably end up with this monstrosity in some way

Sushi could be a consideration, but since the writers were looking for something kids would associate with, pasta might be a closer parallel. I guess the next closest thing would be various sandwiches, but that's a little on the boring side.

He's also doing the variant cover to RRRR issue #1!

EDIT: just saw Kuhn has one as well

–and I'm sure Ben Bishop has already taken a stab at it considering he's drawing the main book. Sophie if you're reading we'd love to see your take as well!

I'm going to say this is a post FW parallel dream sequence.

This reminds me a lot of Sophie Cambell's art style, but not quite. An uncanny valley of it.

My first thought was when Kevkn sold the rights to Pete around 2001 or so but yeah maybe the metaphorical selling out to FW is more apt.

Also I just noticed the sushi on the back of the Ragdoll’s coat. Maybe that is, in fact, their analogous food. TMNT:pizza :: RRRR:sushi ? Oddly appropriate as it was always the favorite food of Splinter’s that they made fun of in FW. Speaking of, I wonder who the Ragdoll’s sensei is? Shatter the crusty old Iguanna with a penchant for pizza?
