Playmates 2005: Blanque, Yoshi, & Feudal Shredder!!
We saw some small pictures of 'General Blanque' and 'Hamato Yoshi w/ Splinter' at the Fall Toy Fair. But here's our first look at the 'Feudal Japan Shredder' Fairly pleased with all three these. While they're not perfect, they are good represenatives of some of the better Playmates TMNT figures. Which seems to be the case with most of the non-Turtles figures. Note that these are prototypes, so the final figure and paintjob could change.

Blanque looks pretty good. Not liking the zero points of articulation though.
Hamato Yoshi still looks like a Happy Meal toy to me. And what's up with that Splinter? It's just a naked, miniature version of mutated Splinter, for crying out loud. Ancient Shredder...I just don't know what to think of this. He looks kind of cool, but he looks nothing like the character. He also seems to be way too short and the paintjob on this prototype is pathetic. Looking at his back, I smell an action feature as well. Come on Playmates, you can do so much better, at least try. |

Mecha, that's how I've felt about most of the line (after wave one, of course)... that they're more like Happy Meal toys then action figures.
Looking at the new Shredder again, yeah... he pry will have an action feature. How 'bout this Playmates, you make ONE WAVE that has some crazy action features, and leave the rest of the figures alone? Casey Jones could have been such a good figure, but you traded articulation away for that stupid spring in his waist. |

these new figures
it's wierd really I really like some of the new toys coming out like butterfly swords & General Blanque but figures like Hamoto yoshi & Gen are just ruined because of action fetures....it reall is making the line look sloppy because it apears as if the line is being sculpted by 2 differnt sculpters and it's really lame looking playmates you really need to make up your mind...
how about you leave the stupid action fetures to the turtles and leave the normal characters alone thanks ^_~. -Vaughn Michael |

I haven't kept up on TMNT since halway through the second season.. who is General Blanque? Hamato Yoshi, and the Fuedal Shredder look kinda cool. I may pick up the Shredder if Canada actually gets the line relatively soon after USA does. I'd rate the three of them together 25/30. Not bad. |

This whole thing came to Earth and the turtles had to find a way to get rid of both armies while trying to convince them that the Fugitoid was no longer on the planet, which both armies do not believe. Last week's TMNT episode was the conclusion.

Actually I just remembered that I saw up until the cut-off of season 2, which was I think the beginning of that big war or something.. too lazy to figure out.

the feudal japan shredder is the shredder from 1000. That is very creative to make him.
they are making hamato. I did not expect that since he was only shown in flashbacks, and they are having the rat splinter. the general blanque figure isn't sculpted like the cartoon. Its about time the made blanque, but i never expected hamato and feudal shredder. |

The only one that looks interesting is the Feudal Japan Shredder. General Blanque looks like more of a plastic statue than a figure. Hamato Yoshi doesn't really look like he did in the show.

Where is the Utrom Shredder figure?! Why not make an opening in that feudal Japan figure, and place the sharp tooth, purple stripe utrom in it. For crying out loud, kids have to have this figure and know the true identity of Shredder.

True. Playmates haven't released an actual Utrom Shredder fig yet. Either they're saving it for later, since they released a normal Utrom figure and are perhaps waiting for the feedback on it, or don't intend on releasing one. But they should think about an Utrom Shredder, with an opening in the abdomen.

Looking forward to these toys.
In the mean time... The next TMNT dvd is out #13 Battle Nexus. Donatello is on the spine. Also includes an advertisement on the inside that states that the Magic Knight turtle varients (or whatever the are called) wont hit shelves until January 2005. |

Fuedal Shredder looks alright.
As for Ultrom Shredder, they should make the 'Rogue in the House' Shredder suit with the opening for the red Ultrom. |
