The guy who wrote the Raimi Spider-Man movies was in his 70's-80's? I never would have guessed.

I always praise Raimi for the joy the three Spider-Man (should have had one more) brought me and caused me to fully immerse in comics beyond TMNTA and the renaissance of superhero movies it opened, but it was only made possible by Alvin Sargeant. Those three films had action, comedy, romance, and character development all woven together perfectly. Its something for any movie fan let alone comic fan.

Spider-Man 2 may be my favorite film of all time. It’s important to me. Thanks in big part to Alvin for that.

I have a favorite of each of the three superheroes that I follow, but Spider-Man 2 is the best of them. Genuine heart felt, classic sequences and the woah moments when Mary Jane and later Harry find out Spider-Man's identity despite x times it happened in comics and media. It is a testament to Sargent's talent.

I love the way he writes Peter. Such a fantastic team on that film all around, in my eyes. Between Alvin, Sam Raimi, Danny Elfman, Tobey Maguire. I don’t think another Spider-Man film could ever top it, for me, and I’m okay with that. I enjoy the new ones wholeheartedly, and am just glad the originals exist.

So yeah, thanks again, Mr Sargent
