Dream TMNT Line...
As the title says this would be my dream TMNT Line.
1/12 scale... (Humans 6", Turtles around 5 1/2") ML Articulation... It would combine characters from ALL TMNT Universes(Comics, Toons, TNM, etc.) I'd call it TMNT: Legacy. Suggested waves: Wave #1 KRANG B-a-F Raphael (Movie): (Left Arm) (Comics)Casey Jones: (Right Arm) Splinter: (Left Leg) Mondo Gecko: (Right Leg) (Toon) Shredder: (Head) Rocksteady: (Upper Torso) Bebop: (Lower Torso) Krang: (3 mousers) Wave #2: Bad Guy Army Leonardo (Movie): (Roadkill Rodney x2) Usagi Yojimbo (If possible): (Utrom security robot x5) Napoleon Bonafrog: (Foot Ninja Upper half) (comics)Leatherhead: (Roadkill Rodney + Utrom Security Robot) Karai: (Foot Soldier Upper half) Khan: (Foot Soldier Lower Half) Foot Elite: (Foot Ninja Lower Half) (Comics)Baxter Stockman: (Mouser x4) Wave #3 Super Shredder B-a-F Donatello (Movie): (Head) Fugitoid: (Upper Torso) Ray Fillet: (Left Arm) Keno: (Right Arm) Tatsu: (Cape and Shoulder Spikes) (Toon) Baxter Stockman: (Lower Torso) Tokka: (Left Leg) Rhazar: (Right Leg) Wave #4: Hun B-a-F Michelangelo w/Klunk (Movie): (Head) April O'neil (2003 Toon): (Left Arm) Venus: (Right Arm) Aska: (Upper Torso) (Toon)Leatherhead: (Right Leg) Slash: (Lower Torso) Rat King: (Left Leg) Shredder (Secret of the Ooze): (Mousers x3) Yes The Trutles are pread through the waves. Releasing all of them at the same time would force more Turtle variants. And yes eventually other versions of the turtles would follow (Mirage comics, TNM, etc.)

My dream line would probably have sculpts based on Tournament Fighters. As much as I'd love to have ANY superarticulated Karai, I'd go freaking nuts if they released a 7" Karai in bulky pink commando gear. NUTS, I tell you!
My dream line would also have no BAFs, 'cause I bloody hate those things. Your Wave 2 is mostly acceptable, though.

I would enjoy a basic series dedicated to being early cartoon accurate. I know there were toon turtles but I would prefer something more in line with the animated series.

My first dream line would be high end 1/6 scale figures based off the old comics done by hot toys or side show, and my dream second line is already being done by NECA

If NECA can get their asses in gear and stay there, I'll have my dream line.

An accurately designed series of TMNT1 movie figures of the guys, case, ape, saki & tatsu in at least 7", at best 12" figs. Well articulated, detailed, etc.

As some of you have said, my dream lines would be:
- Old Toon Accurate: With DC Universe style and proportions. - First movie: Just imagine a Casey Jones figure with Koteas likeness. Awesomeness. - Also a CYBER SHREDDER! Come on, there must be a market for him besides me and Wes. Make it happen Playmates and / or NECA. |

If there isn't a market for a figure like THAT, there should be. And that's even a recolored Mirage comic snippet (Vol. 1, Issue #57), so there's totally a comic basis for a buff Shredder! Gimme plz.

Super articulation on the TMNT... Possibly a set of Super articulated Foot Clan and April... Yes their TMNT line is what dreams are made of. This topic was more of a what if? (Neca stopped the TMNT line... What would your dream TMNT Line be.) That TF Shredder looks badass...

Also, I can't believe I didn't mention that there has to be a 7 inch OT April, as accurate to those first episodes as possible. Last edited by Nelson; 02-18-2009 at 09:55 AM. |

Talk in the recent BAF thread lead me to this old thread, so rather than create a new one, I thought I'd just revive this one.
With the NECA line dead, my dream comic line died with it A dream line, as stevebarns already said, would be Hot Toys doing a first movie based line, but the chances of that are pretty much nil (unless the reboot does TDK like numbers in 2013... so again pretty much no chance) My "realistic" dream line would be for Playmates to do a Classics line like Mattel is doing with MOTU and Bandai are going to do for ThunderCats when it relaunches later this year. Like the MOTUC line, this line (let's be completely unoriginal and call it TMNT Classics) would all be done in the same style and would feature characters from Mirage, Image, Archie, Original Toon, 2K3 Toon, Movies, even The Next Mutation and the TMNT4 concept art. Which is kinda like the original line really, as that featured characters from Mirage, OT, Archie and Movie and they all fit together pretty well. The only exception to this would be TMNT variants such as OT and 2K3 accurate versions of the TMNT. Though I must admit, I'd be tempted to say TNM figures wouldn't have the initials on the belt buckles or scuplted abbs! Like MOTUC, the bios on the characters could be used to create a single narrative for the TMNT Like with ThunderCats, Playmates have an ideal opportunity to launch this type of line alongside the Nick Toon based line in 2012. My original plan was 20 waves (and there was still plenty of characters left to keep going), but I've cut that down to 14 waves, taken out quite a few secondary characters (most Mutanimals, Ninja Tribunal/Acolytes, Next Mutation villains, minor OT+2K3 villains, etc) and added a few more TMNT and Shredder variants to anchor the waves as I felt this was more realistic. So here's what I'd do; Wave 1 - Fall 2012 Leonardo (Mirage Comics) Raphael (Mirage Comics) Michelangelo (Mirage Comics, with Klunk) Donatello (Mirage Comics) Splinter (Mirage Comics) Shredder (Mirage Comics) Foot Soldier (Mirage Comics) Wave 2 - Spring 2013 Leonardo (Original Toon) Raphael (Original Toon) Michelangelo (Original Toon) Donatello (Original Toon) April O’Neil (Reporter, with Mousers) (blue costume variant) Krang’s Android Body (Large Size Figure) Bebop Rocksteady Foot Soldier (Robot) There would be a break in summer 2013 for a wave of Movie Classics based on the first movie to coincide with the new movie. If likeness rights for April, Casey and Tatsu were available these would be all new, if not then I'd just re-release the old Movie Star TMNT, Splinter, Foot Soldier and do a new Movie Star Shredder in the old style. Wave 3 - Fall/Winter 2013 Casey Jones (Original Toon/Early Mirage Comics) Ninjara Elite Guard Baxter Stockman (Fly) General Tragg Over the summer break it would be accessed if it was viable for the line to continue (in store or in smaller numbers/higher price online like MOTUC). If not then there would be an Original Toon variant of Shredder released with Wave 3. This would allow fans a relatively complete set of core Early Mirage Comics/Original Toon characters (plus Ninjara). Wave 4 - Spring 2014 Leonardo (2K3 Variant - coloured bandanas and different skin tones) Donatello (2K3 Variant - coloured bandanas and different skin tones) Radical Metalhead (Original Toon, not Mirage) Triceraton Warrior Wave 5 - Summer 2014 Michelangelo (2K3 Variant - coloured bandanas and different skin tones) Raphael (2K3 Variant - coloured bandanas and different skin tones) Fugitoid Armaggon Rahzar Wave 6 - Fall 2014 Splinter (TMNT Movie) Utrom Shredder (Original Toon) Tokka Pimiko Wave 7 - Winter 2014 Leonardo (The Next Mutation) Venus de Milo Leatherhead Dragon Lord Hun Wave 8 - Spring 2015 Raphael (The Next Mutation) Casey Jones (2K3/TMNT Movie) Renet (Mirage, from “Masks”) Shredder (2K3/Mirage Oroku Yoshi) Verminator-X Wave 9 - Summer 2015 Michelangelo (The Next Mutation) Cyborg Donatello (Image Comics) Usagi Yojimbo Karai Agent Bishop Wave 10 - Fall 2015 Raphael as Shredder (Image Comics) Donatello (The Next Mutation) Hamato Yoshi Granitor Ultimate Ninja Wave 11 - Winter 2015 Leonardo (TMNT IV: The Next Mutation Concept) Irma The Ancient One Drako Complete Carnage Wave 12 - Spring 2016 Raphael (TMNT IV: The Next Mutation Concept) “Dark Shadows” Shadow Tengu Shredder (Revived Design) Rat King Vam Mi Wave 13 - Summer 2016 Michelangelo (TMNT IV: The Next Mutation Concept) Zog Lady Shredder Savanti Romero Rank Warrior Wave 14 - Fall 2016 Donatello (TMNT IV: The Next Mutation Concept) April O’Neil (TMNT Movie) Shredder (2K3 - Rogue in the House) Slash Fan Choice - OT/Archie character Obviously if the line had to be cut short the waves would be re-adjusted as much as possible to get the more important characters out before it ended. On the other hand, if the line is successful then there's plenty of core character variants to anchor more waves (Archie accurate TMNT, Fast Forward, Archie Future TMNT, classic line variants, etc) and more than enough secondary and tertiary characters to fill double the number of waves. |

We could exploit Turtles Forever as a reason for the existence of different versions of the characters.

If I had my way they would go a lot longer than that! But I had to keep my dream line semi-realistic. But I don't think 2016 is too unbelievable . MOTUC has been running since 2008 (I think) and I know they have a plan that runs through 2017 without any supporting TV series or movie. With the new TV series starting at the same time, and the new movie in 2013 (apparently) there should be enough fan interest to launch the line, and if the TV series is popular it only has to run 4 seasons to get to 2016 (and hopefully a movie sequel in 2015/2016) so there should be enough media exposure to help support the line. Quote:
But ultimately I don't think the reason really matters. I might like the idea of the character bios creating a single universe/narrative for the line, the Turtles Forever multiverse works brilliantly as well, but fans will collect whatever they want. Some will get them all, some will just focus on Mirage comics characters, some just OT or 2K3, etc. That's why I tried to balance the waves. |

How about more of those lame series of figures much like the ones produced in the mid-1990's?
One example off the top of my head would be Business Turtles. The Turtles and Splinter would all be appropriately dressed up in either suits or business casual attire. Shredder and his henchmen would all be dressed like factory workers. It would include the following: HR Coordinator Splinter Vice President Leo Information Systems Manager Don Marketing Director Mike Accountant Raph Foreman Shredder Fleet Mechanic Bebop Assembly Line Worker Rocksteady Last edited by mustafa; 03-18-2011 at 09:36 PM. |
