So they recycled those 4 episodes? Good to know.

Just watched the interviews. Whoever secured the animation for them oughtta be fired. Never heard of telecine? Fail. Also, why it came out so flipbookish, I don't even wanna know. >_< So, that first guy was boring as all get out. The second was the best. At least he had a personality. The last guy might had something interesting to say, but I kept getting distracted by trying to figure out why he wouldn't stop squinting. I guess he must be a big Gilbert Gotfried fan.

On the Season 1 DVD way back, the bonus episodes that came from Season 10 had the "CBS Action Zone" pre-intro intact. Does this release still have those, or are they missing (like they should be)?
It's kinda weird, but takes me back to that Saturday Morning feeling..

So I've watched the first five episodes and haven't stayed awake for a single one of them, and I already know the next episode "Mobster from Dimension X" sucks ass.

Still, I've found this to be the best Red Sky season overall.

Meh. At least we can agree season 9 was an all-time low.

No need. That's a universal fact.

The Shredder 3-parter was amazing and the first two episodes were quite good. How on earth do you "not stay awake?" from watching them?

I tend to watch DVDs late at night, so falling asleep is pretty much routine for me regardless of what show it is.

It's nice to have the animator interviews, even if they weren't terribly interesting. I wish we could have gotten some animators who worked on the show earlier in its run.

Season 10 might be my favorite (not just of the red sky seasons, but of all of the seasons), mainly because of the three part story featuring Shredder and Krang. Only thing that I don't like about it is the alternate Raphael voice.

Agreed, except the alternate Raph voice is pretty decent for me. Shame Rob Paulsen couldn't be there to wrap up the last 8 episodes, buy hey its no different than Shredder having an alternate voice.

I think Season 10 had 8 very solid episodes. I know most people don't like the mobster episode, but I think its simply because it came directly after the Shredder/Krang 3-parter.

I also find Dregg much more menacing and convincing in this season. Transporting pieces of the sun to Earth's major cities to scorch all humans to a cinder? That was pretty awesome for a kids cartoon, and far more brutal than anything Shredder/Krang ever did.

The Shredder/Krang arc was treated as a five-parter by the UK, with them and the first two episodes of the season edited together to form a feature-length story.

I had my mom buy me the DVD as a birthday present so I won't be able to actually watch it until then. However I do plan on sitting through all the other seasons in November.

Seems strange to take those first two episodes. They should have edited the 3 parter with the final episode, as that includes the Technodrome and Krang's Android body and nicely capped off the series overall.

The problem people have with "Mobster" was that "Turtles to the Second Power" ended with Dregg, Mung and a very vengeful Shredder and Krang being sent back to Dimension X together. The Globfather had been hinting that he was working for someone very interested in the Protein Computer he was after. Imagine our surprise when we find out it's Dregg. :p Though not surprising since there were only two episodes left after that and it wouldn't be enough time for Shredder and Krang to really do anything major with Dregg's technology and resources.

I just realized something that I don't think I ever cared about before.

In the final episode of the show, we see a few notable things happen:

- Splinter gives the Turtles their final training lesson. Its also quite enjoyable since there weren't as many scenes of Splinter training the Turtles in this series as in the 4kids show.

- April gets kidnapped and has to be rescued in her final episode, bringing a running theme of the character from Episode 1 back into play.

- Mike says "Cowabunga" one last time as the Van is driving off the cliff.

- Of course seeing the Technodrome all run down and destroyed brought some fitting closure to the show.

- Krang's android body being used to stop the main villain is ironic given when Krang tried to use it to squash the Turtles in Season 1's finale.

I also love how at the very end, Splinter says that he is no longer their sensei but their equal. The Turtles finally became more than students, they were full fledged ninja.

This is some things you wouldn't think about if it was any other random ep of the show, but since it was the finale these moments are quite fun to take note of.

I hadn't caught the notes about April, Cowabunga, or the irony of Krangs Androids functionality. Neat. It was a decent finale. Not great, though.

I honestly can't, off the top of my head, think of any shows that had a "great", or even "good", final episode, and I hate that. The final episode of any show is usually one of the weakest, often because it wasn't planned for in advance.

I haven't watched the entire DVD yet (work, etc.), so I'm a bit fuzzy on how this finale turned out, but I do remember it vaguely. Those little touches others have mentioned probably mean more in hindsight than they did at the time. Neat, though.

Ehh, I'm just glad I got it. Does make me remember waking up on Saturdays and wondering why the hell the intro had shots from the live action movie. Really wasn't planning on buying it, but it was in store and cheap.
