VUDU puts a number of movies up for free watch every month, but it's nice that TMNT got featured prominently in the website's header as the flagship title for the current promotion:

Haha, can you believe I was just looking at that earlier today and thought the same thing?

It's funny that for all of the movie preview images, the studio used the 3rd movie costumes (worst of the series) and the most fondly remembered movie gets the silly rock concert photo as its preview image on VUDU!

I think it is the movie studios that dictate preview art rather than VUDU, so it just makes you wonder... what were they thinking?

This has been going on forever. They seem too dense to realize and say "You know what? These designs are pretty ugly. Let's go with what they really look like in the movies and cartoons instead." At least the 4Kids Turtles designed by Michael Dooney for promotional materials look good, even if they aren't totally screen accurate.

Yeah the Dooney art was pretty much the idealized look for the characters in the collective fan imagination!

Speaking of VUDU, the Fred Wolf Series had been de-listed for digital purchase for over a year, but now some of the individual season pages have been updated with an "SD Mar 18" notice where the purchase button usually, so mayb the series is returning this month? The weird thing is that not every season (like 1, 2, 3, 8, and 9) of the show has this notice:
https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...-Season/559793

Also, the Rise of the TMNT page has been updated to now included a list of episodes under the "Season 2" designation, whereas previously every new episode added had gone under the "Season 1" page.

You know, I always wondered why people weren't more terrified of the Turtles. And those menu pictures really don't help with an answer.

Nice find, though. I'm totally going to binge this stuff.

While we're here. . . any place I can watch the 2012 toon? I was late to the party and live in a place where it's not easy to come by.

If you want to do it legally in High-definition, this is probably the best bang for your buck (sometimes it even goes on sale or you can redeem a discount coupon):

Thanks! I appreciate it. Netflix has the first two seasons where I am, but they don't seem to be updating it. I watched them both over the course of a month, and caught some of the third season in other places (which is fantastic) but still can't find the rest anywhere. I'm going to have fun with this.

This is an image out of context, but as Disney's power grows over all media empires, I think "Not on Netflix" is going to be a phrase we hear more and more:
