Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Bodycount Spoiler:
(W) Kevin Eastman (A) Kevin Eastman (A/CA) Simon Bisley After being out of print for years, a grindhouse-style classic returns-better than ever. Inspired by the magazine Heavy Metal and the films of John Woo, creators Kevin Eastman and Simon Bisley present a much darker take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, spinning a pulse-pounding yarn of over-the-top action and more than a bit of the old ultraviolence. In gritty 1990s New York, our boys Raphael and Casey are swept up into an international murder/revenge/assassination plot, complete with gangsters, thugs, cops, cyborgs, machine guns, and (of course) hockey sticks. Don't miss what might just be the longest-running gunfight in comic book history! Collects Bodycount issues #1-4 with all-new colors by Kevin Eastman. Bullet points: • "Pure, unfiltered and unhindered Kevin Eastman." — TMNT Entity • Two legendary talents team up for a jaw-dropping action-romp starring two of the baddest dudes in the TMNT universe: Raphael and Casey Jones. It's a must for adult Ninja Turtles collectors and anyone nostalgic for the grim 'n' gritty days of '90s comics. • Suggested for mature readers. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 19: Invasion of the Triceratons Spoiler:
Tom Waltz (W), Kevin Eastman (W), Damian Couceiro (A/C) Abducted from their planet millennia ago, the Triceratons are at last free to return home. They come in peace, but how will the world react to a Triceraton "invasion" in the heart of New York City? About how you would expect, especially when the Earth Protection Force gets involved. As the three-pronged attack begins in earnest, it's up to the Turtles to stop the conflict before it escalates into all-out war! Collects issues #76-80. Bullet points: • Advance solicited for July release! • "One of the best ongoing comics on the shelves right now." —Word of the Nerd

Cool. Cool, cool, cool. Is Madam Null returning to the story so soon?

The Mondo Gecko / Michelangelo team-up sounds awesome.
And it sounds like the Turtles bail on NYC to find Pantheon backup to take the fight to Rat King... first Toad Baron, now Manmoth. Betcha anything next issue is a trip to South America to meet Jagwar. Meet Oroku Pimiko.

So "Kingdom of Rats" might be a low-key world tour-type arc? Neat! All that's missing now in terms of "obligatory" storylines to cover before #100 is a return to the Battle Nexus and a proper tournament, really...

Well, seems things are turning toward the turtles in pagetime favor.
As for who Mike and Mondo are facing, I'm going to say...Wyrm...???

I dunno, it could be. But I'm willing to assume it's Null.

All things considered, Zodi might be another good thought.
Wyrm doesn't hit hard enough for the kind of story they seem to be going for in the description, and Null hits too hard.

If they run into Zodi, they're still running into Null... just by proxy.

Glad to see Manmoth in the spotlight, the whole Patheon story and traveling around the world reminds me a lot of the Archie series around the world arcs, where they would constantly travel to new places and meet different cultures and usually some weird mutant creature. I guess Gothano will be the one Patheon member kept in mystery or until the tail-end of the arc.
In Universe I kinda wish they'd wrap up the Null subplot. It doesn't seem like they have any grand plans for her. And man, between the Image series and Bodycount coming out at the same time, the "extreme 90's" of 1996-1997 are back. |

Two things I'm still curious about:
- Dimensions/size of "Bodycount". Assuming it's a hardcover, but is it a deluxe-sized one? - Kevin Eastman's variant covers for Volume 3. Excited and curious to see his take on this version of the turtles Thanks for sharing! |

Love all three covers for #83, and I echo Cubed's sentiments that that arc sounds very Archiesque.

Yes, Bodycount its what Eastman referred to as "Top Shelf Collectible Edition" so it will be a hardback which will feature commentary on the mini. Size nor dimensions were not mentioned.

I thought this said "Who the butt is that". Which also would have worked.

Wow! Beautiful covers for 83, especially Watcher's. I keep spoiling this series for myself months in advance.
