April saved the day via the "cut the power" gag on at least three different occasions, also including "The Mean Machines" and "Invasion of the Turtle Snatchers" ("every kid's toy has batteries"). Planet of the Turtles

I should've known!! The first one is from Superhero For A Day and the second is from "Planet of the Turtles", one of my all-tie favorite episodes. Actually, the first is pretty good too!! These are among Season 4's episodes that were added to syndication while the CBS run was in Season 5 or 6.

What episode was it where Splinter instructs Donatello with a lesson about the art of "Woo Wee" (not sure about the spelling) which he describes as the art of doing nothing and letting evil crumble under its own weight?
I remember it has a strange pay-off in the end of the episode. EDIT: Ah, apparently it happened in "Rock around the Block," and the technique is spelled "Wu Wei."

At the very least, "Wu Wei" does rhyme with Splinter's other sacred Foot Clan technique... the "Cur-Lee/Kur-Li" manuever.

I had assumed Splinter was never shown eating pizza in the Fred Wolf cartoon series, on account of the fact that his distaste for it was a major plot point in the episode "The Old Switcheroo."
Yet, there are few seconds near the end of "The Mean Machines" where he is chowing down on the pizza with the Turtles and April: Where there any other episodes where Splinter eats pizza?

That one is from "Mr. Ogg Goes to Town."
I actually own the storyboard for that exact shot! I used to hate that episode, but it's grown on me over the years.

Besides "Splinter No More," were Bebop and Rocksteady seen in their track suits in any other episodes?
I recently picked up this animation cel of Rocksteady in his blue track suit, but I can't match the cel to a specific frame in "Splinter No More."

what episode is the Turtles rappelling down Elevator cables/ Jumping Down an elevator shaft used from? I'm assuming it's season 4, but I'm drawing a blank here. I'm talking about the still that they used in the Outro from Seasons 4-7? (Except for the European Vacation)

EDIT: Yep, the moment happens around the 8 minute, 51 second mark. The funny thing is that in this scene, the Turtles have been afflicted by Rocksteady's ray blaster which turns everybody into cowards, so they are retreating out of fear for their lives. And yet, that moment was considered so epic, it was chosen for the Outro backdrop!

Thanks for the help.
yeah, I pulled out my Season 4 DVDs to confirm and was hilariously disappointed by the awful truth. There's nothing heroic about the moment. They're not "jumping into danger", it's a shameful retreat. I feel like the kid in me has been deceived. It's too bad because it's a strong image. One of the strongest in the entire series. I can see why they used it. It's so much stronger than the random still they picked for season 8. Last edited by Cordial Bird; 10-01-2020 at 12:44 AM. |

Well, think of it this way: if you were or even weren't under the influence of an Anxietron ray, would you try something like this?

In honor of American Thanksgiving, anybody remember which classic toon episode in which April says that "Turkey in the Straw" was one of her favorite songs?
EDIT: Turns out it was Peking Turtle. Thanks to Turtlepedia for the Transcript.
