2012–2017 series international adventures

Do you think the 2012–2017 series could have carried a season or sideseason with international adventures? (in the present, not time travel). Like Shredder following the turtles, or the Kraang being around at other places around the world? Or maybe if it had Brazil-based Mutanimals?

It would be similair to the the 1987–1996 series Vacation in Europe, or like the TMNT Adventures visits to South America and Asia.

I think it would'vd been cool if after Shredder's death, Tiger Claw makes his way to Japan in order to rebuild the Foot, and we get the turtles tailing him in a wild goose chase spanning multiple multiple episodes that had them journey through many countries.

That, or the turtles trying to stop another Kraang invasion by finding their bases in other countries and learning more about their history in places like Egypt.

Shredder could've done more than blow up the Channel Six building. I don't mean as far as murdering Splinter, but think of the possibilities if censors were not an issue.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

I'd thought they could have had a Japan arc if the series had kept running. Karai may have had to go to officially claim her place as foot leader (unless that was done behind the scenes) facing opposition... maybe from Tiger Claw as Fredworlf pointed out. trying to re-build it there (if there were no issues with having a mutant leader)... or a different reason altogether.

The short answer is just a plain no.

It simply didn't have the budget for it, why do you think you saw the same environments over and over again? Or when they went out in space, they mostly visited empty landscapes, stuck to pre-existing assets or just rendered everything with matte paintings?

A theorethical episode in Brazil would not look good. The jungles would basically just be painted backgrounds, with the out of place North American vegetation taken from previous episodes for the characters to actually interact with. Any buildings would be even worse, remember the Tang Shen scene? Her entire kitchen was rendered with paintings, imagine a whole city.

I would have liked a mighty mutanimals spin off series.

Same! That would have been awesome!

If I'd been asked during season 4, I'd agree that an international season would be impossible to pull off. But season 5 was insanely ambitious, with a 4 part arc creating different time periods, a 3 part trip to Feudal Japan, and a 3 part arc building a world of the future. There were even towns used only for a handful of shots (in the Dracula episode and in Yojimbo).

With some clever thinking and planning, it just might have been possible.

For some reason, the turtles seem to be better at visiting feudal Japan than modern, except the Archieverse.

I was hoping Season 5 would have been the "World Tour" year. Seems like all of the stories could have easily tied into that globe treking theme.

Well we did see Japan a few times, and Egypt and Europe during the monster arc.

An adventure to Australia would be fun too.

It wouldn't technically be international, but will we ever have the turtles explore the Red states?

It could be either the wild west in a time travel story or some countryside in modern way. Besides, the turtles, being American, have seriously limited exposure to their country outside of tv
