35th Anniversary Comic Book set from Playmates - Page 5

No idea how many they sold today online, but I am happy to have had a shot at getting one. I really doubt I will ever see one in stores.

Now I hope they disclose the release time of the classic 4 pack.

It couldn't be more than a couple hundred. It was impossible to search for on the site, could only find it through direct links. I'm hoping the book comes NM....my concern is stuff rubbing against it. Might be hard and rare to find a 9.8

I missed them completely. I was at work and totally forgot about the release

If anyone ends up deciding to return theirs to the store or hocking it please, I really would like to get a set for less then the $130 scalper price on ebay.

Mine arrived Saturday and the package was in great condition. It seemed to have a custom shipping box to it was pretty solid in the box. I am looking forward to putting it in my display case! Now I just hope the classic version is available soon and comes in the same condition.

I received mine on Saturday as well and I was impressed with how terrific it looked. Zero damage! However I'm surprised there was no padding materials to somewhat cushion the box in there. Still...totally happy mine showed up in perfect condition.

Figures, the one time I miss a release on Walmart.com and they don't just toss the item loose in a television sized box.

i received my set today. mine was also mint condition the box did not look like a Walmart box, almost as if this was packaged by Playmates and they just slapped the label on it

Check your local Walmarts. Some of the ones within 20 miles show at least 1 in stock.

It must be some kind of glitch... I have checked 5 local walmarts that say online they have 1 in stock and all of them got nothing. Had all my attempts to buy them online refunded.

I never trust Wal-Mart instock numbers on their web site. They are never accurate and I’ve never found toys in store when looking prior to checking stock.

The distribution seems strange. I looked last night at both Walmart.com and Brickseek. Walmart told me that there were no stores within 50 miles with any in stock. Brickseek showed that none of the 4 Walmarts right in my city and adjacent suburbs had them. But basically every small town within 50 miles around here did have them. It took calling a couple of stores to find an employee to actually answer the phone and go and look for them, but I did find them.

Looks like they are probably shipping 2 per case. And they appear to be part of an upcoming reset, so evidently Walmart's system doesn't show them as part of the regular inventory yet.

I found two at Walmart tonight. Only bought the one that didn’t have the comic all bent up in the packaging. Not a good way to package a comic.

My normal Walmart doesn't have them yet as per the department manager. They are expected for the reset which starts Monday. I actually don't think they will get them though because this specific Walmart almost never gets the Walmart Exclusive items. Not sure why, they are huge and always very busy.

Anybody see any kind of update on the classic releases?

it looks like only 2 are in the shipping boxes. i picked up one at mine, theres still one left if any one lives around the pekin il area.

For those who found these in Walmart...are they in the same isle as the Rise Figures? I checked a Walmart earlier and didn’t see them or a price sticker spot for them so I wanna make sure that I’m looking in the right section.

They haven't been put out yet in any of the stores I've seen. I think there is a toy section reset due shortly. They are probably on hold for after that reset. I got my sets by asking an employee and giving her the sku number.

I found two sets by accident. Went in just looking to buy some Rise figures, not even thinking of the set, and saw them right below the Rise figures. Got both. One to sell at cost to another fan, and one for my daughter.
