It's quiet in here?

Hardly any one posts in this part of the forums, dang. Is it due to the lack of new episodes?

I don't have much to say about the show (other than voicing my dislike of it..haha!). I have to say though, I am curious to see when Shredder appears!! What do you suppose Draxxum's role will be when Shredhead finally debuts? Will he willingly bow down to Shredder or will there be a power struggle?

I'm also looking for the last action figures that were released from the show. Haven't found Albearto or Foot Lieutenant in stores yet.

That's about all I have to say about RISE.

I guess there's just not that much excitement for this show. Not that surprising given how this is a forum largely made up of older fans, and how this show has very little in common with previous TMNT material. Even though the last show released episodes at an abyssmal rate, the forum was still active until a few weeks after the series concluded. I guess that it more closely resembled what's expected from TMNT is what helped it keep up the hype?

The funny thing is that the last show, with it's confused writing and budget constraints, might actually be a worse show in general.

Makes me wonder how the show is doing in the ratings/merchandising realm.

Yeah, hiatus paired with the fact that this one really doesn't offer a whole lot to discuss much of the time...

It terms of ratings, it does roughly the same as any other show on Nickelodeon. Though ratings for Nickelodeon are dropping in general.

Streaming viewership and merch sales are impossible to find.

It's a kids show and this forum is mostly filled with 30 year olds. And unlike the previous 3 TMNT cartoons, this one is further removed from what the core of the TMNT franchise is about not to mention how the Turtles and Splinter are portrayed. It's not surprising.

The Nick 2012 series had a huge following among adults, not just here, but in all other places like twitter/tumblr, comic book forums, etc. Rise doesn't generate the interest that Ciro's 2012 series did.

Rise has a really poppin' fandom, but it's not in any communities made up of grumpy would-be dads. Which is a lot of TMNT based groups. Tumblr goes ham for this series, & you'll see plenty of love for it on Instagram too. Seems it's landed more with it's intended demo- a younger generation.

I believe most of us on here dislike the version of TMNT because Rise does not hit multiple age groups the way the other cartoons have. So there is not many interested in talking about it when there is something to discuss. Rise hit its demographic more than the incarnations before it. That demographic is not present on this forum. I hear nothing about it, but I teach high school. They were interested in either '87 or '12.

The 2003 series is very known. The official TMNT twitter posts images/gifs from the show all the time and they constantly get likes and replies with people talking how much they loved the show and want DVD releases.

Do you guys visit anywhere outside this dying forum? All the young hep cats of today are on social media, forums are for old people like ourselves.

Its partly because after its sudden conclusion all that is seen in Turtles Forever. If marketed it could be different. The '87 cartoon made it a juggernaut and can cash in on nostalgia in marketing. Meanwhile the Nick Turtles are the new core TMNT that are also marketable. The 2003 series brought TMNT out of being a fad and into a franchise. It is caught in the middle is the problem. Its not what made it a hit nor the core of what the successor owner made. I mean I like the '87 cartoon the most then the '03 cartoon, then the '12 cartoon. One hit my interest the best and then the next fed my need for TMNT and also more mature interest (continuity and characterization) while the '12 cartoon tried too hard to cater to multiple audience that I only watched the original airings and don't think it will hold up in the different ways the other two do. Rise unlike the 2012 cartoon, what I thought was a failed attempt of reaching multiple TMNT groups is simply a kiddie cartoon without trying to reach adults like how we appreciate the humor of the '87 cartoon in a different way. If it is successful its hard to determine. I tried it, I did not like it, its not made for a TMNT fan, but kids. Hopefully the cartoons will not get progressively worse for TMNT fans, but it is what it is for now. Hope those in the demographic enjoy it. They just don't go on fan forums as they are too young.

Where did the dignity go.

The role play weapons/masks at my Walmart seem to be selling okay and noticed today that there is only one left on the hook. (Not that they can actually stack that deep per hook, but still.) The figures... not so much. Since I go past it once a week for work reasons it's noticeable that it rarely seems to change.

Yes i have twitter and youtube and i dont see lot of people talking there either because it is bad show but with all the recent scandals with perfonal data leaks on facebook and other social media soon they will be dead too. If rise was as serious as the 2012 and 2003 the forum would had been full of people talking about it but we are 30+ episodes and ihavent fought the turtles yet so not suprise that most people dont care about it.
