Pics from part of my score over the weekend.
Got the Party Wagon from my friends parent's attic (along with 3 bags of loose figures he is selling on ebay) Got the Technodrome from a friend for a Mutating Don/Mike and a Groundchuck. And last but not lease, got the Warriors of the Forgotten Sewer Rocksteady for $5 at a flea market and the Unpunched "Gutsiest" April for $8 at the same flea market. Today I'm sad
Long story short, ebay didn't set my max bid, lost out on today's steal
I'm sad because I really wanted it. Not only for me, but for my kid and my wife. Sorry for being whiny http://www.ebay.com/itm/221164842459...84.m1435.l2649 Longer story. I gre up login the turtles. So did my wife. My three year old just recently discovered the new nick series which she's been crazy about, but I have exposed her to the older animated series, and have even read her the comics as bed time stories (edited at times). I just recently found out about the neca figures and have been wanting to get them with the diorama sets for my wife and kid. And then I discovered these amazing autographed sets, in he black and white version! And I was in love, I knew what I was getting them for Christmas! I bid, added a max bid. Went to change my max bid (and here is where I junk it must have reset), and waited. Then I was sniped in the last second. And now I'm sad. I was even going to use the buy it now option at one point but he seller got greedy and upped it by an extra hundred bucks Edit: great job to the buyer! I sincerely hope you enjoy them! |

Sooo you were going to rip open a valuable set of adult collector pieces, signed by co-creator Peter laird, for a 3 year old? I'm glad you didn't win, personally.

I'm gonna guess if he had won he wouldn't have done what he intended on doing. But it'd still be his to do what he wants.

My thoughts exactly, I have built my younger brothers an entire army of tmnt toys from buying loose lots on the drome forums and have spent around 100 dollars total, what rational person would spend big bucks on unpainted signed collector toys for a child? I wouldn't be surprised if this guy is lying in hopes that the person who bought the set is a member of this forum and will read his sob story and offer them to him, but I'm a paranoid skeptic |

No I intended to do what I said. Just because she's three
Doesn't mean she's a wildling.
Supervised, not even supervised more like included, play with storage in a curio helps teach the kid responsibility and enjoyment of possessions. Just because they are pretty doesnt mean they can't be touched. Also they have already been opened. So there will be no destruction of mp on my part anyway. But like I said it was more of a family gift mainly for my wife and child. And she's been more than appropriate with my green canti from rio bone. I don't get the hate. Honestly and truly, if the person is on this forum I hope you enjoy them. Even if it means you have to burn them. I'm just disappointed with ebay, and my max bid not being accepted. Edit: yeah she has crap toys that we leave her un supervised with, but we also have nice things that we can enjoy. And it's not like the figures themselves are autographed, the box would have been stored properly. Last edited by Citizen Krang; 12-12-2012 at 05:04 PM. |

Really?
What's so f'd about it?
If she wants to play with them 1.I (or my wife) take them out of the curio (its locked) 2. We sit down and play with them 3. When finished we put them back up (and relock the curio) She's a good kid with an amazing imagination who happens to be incredibly smart. She listens to what we tell her. So please tell me how my logic is f'd again? |

I see where they are coming from
But hey don't seem to see where I'm comming from.
For me and mine, that was a perfect set. As it was already opened, so no mint package. I get an autograph, my wife gets the figures to round out her curio (the sdcc is the only b&w set with diorama), and the kid (and ourselves) get to play with the figures. The issue seems to be that my child happens to be three. People feel as if I would be s****ing on them or desecrating them somehow. I'm not letting my six month old chew on the box, and he 3yo is interacting with her parents. Yet the hate continues to flow. But if that's not the case, ill put this out there, ill even make a new thread, But does anyone have an open b&w set with diorama that they would be willing to sell at a reasonable price? Autographs not necessary. Edit: apparently I don't have permissions to create a [wtb] in the proper folder. That's... counter intuitive? Edit2: I'd also like to make clear that I had no intentions of purchase or guilt when I made my first post. I just wanted to share a great steal. And to b**** a little. I had been dying to post it, but didn't because I really wanted it. It was going to be a great gift. Something happened and someone else got a great steal. I can't tell if these posts are auto-correct messes or what, but I'm enjoying trying to interpret them.
I have two girls, 3 and 5. I buy vintage figures for them all the time, and I know as soon as they get in their possession, I can count the accessories as lost. I have my own Classics and NECA figures that they know not to touch. Besides the NECA figures are somewhat-fragile collectors items, I wouldn't put them in the hands of anyone under 10 for fear of breakage, or even injury with the points on some of the weapons. I think you want to buy them for yourself, and you're using your wife, and even moreso your child, to justify your purchase. If these were for your kid, you should be buying the toys, not the collectors items, regardless of where you keep them stored. |

Paid just $9.15 including shipping for this comics lot mostly consisting of Archie. Sure, I have every issue in this lot and these are considered a low grade lot by TMNT standards (Fair-VG) with one issue even missing its cover, but a great opportunity to trade for some of the issues I have, or to simply have good reading copies. What really set this is that the seller listed this under "books" instead of "comics".

Is this a good deal? I've never had these but I think they're pretty rare.
