I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry. It was actually good and funny, but then there were also those creepy parts with Sandler watching Biel undress and such.

Saw Logan last weekend and Beauty and the Beast (the new one) today. Both great movies!

Predators (2010).
Easily the worst of the Predator movies. A lot of things wrong with the movie. But that's not to say that it didn't have some good qualities. There was a lot of things that went unexplained, and some stuff they gave explanations for were just dumb. The main human characters were all bland, typical "badasses" with no depth. The big reveal with one of them at the end felt really forced. The dogs or whatever were an unnecessary addition as well. The true redeeming part of this film were the Predators themselves. Each with their own unique design and signature biomasks, they really stood out. The whole "supef-predator" thing was kinda dumb, but it at least expanded a bit more the Predator mythos, and that was really needed for a film like this. Also I didn't really like the non-ending, but whatever. Pretty decent overall. |

Prometheus (2012).
I'm surprised at how much I ended up liking this film. It was really good. The lack of more connections to the Alien franchise didn't really bug me that much, I felt like it was good with what it has. I liked the designs for the Deacon, Engineers, Trilobyte, and Hammerpeads. The fact that the Space Jockey's were expanded upon, and their connection to the human race was explained really made this film that much better. I do have to admit though, what was planned and designed for the movie would've been better than what the final cut turned out to be. It all just has me psyched for Convenant's continuation of the story. |

Came across the 1983 movie "Sacred Ground" late last night. Part way in, didn't see the whole thing.
Don't care that is was supposedly based on a "true story/facts" or that this is the early 80s trying to portray an older time... That was definitely some racism and sexism right there. Not often you see a film where the main character is just a quite unlikable d*ck. Oh look, and at the end the Paiute woman randomly decides to save and leave with the white man (the unlikable main character) who had earlier in the film run into their small temporary camp (after their 'burial' of her infant and an adult tribes member) all crazy-like on his horse, assaulted her in her lodge, knocked her out, and kidnapped her in order to force her to wet nurse his child. How romantic. How blatant some of it is is kind of amusing... I'm not sure if it was trying to make that point, or if the writing simply had a blind sense of superiority. In this day and age I have a hard time accepting that this film is rated 3 Stars. Last edited by IndigoErth; 03-24-2017 at 06:35 PM. |

Independence Day (1996) is god awful. Literally the only good thing about the movie is it propelled Will Smith's movie career.
It literally has every single cliche of every alien invasion movie ever. And I'm sure even way back in 1996 it was a cliche. The alien motherships that hover around while the president and all the people panic. The initial destruction, the dumb air pilots who try to take it down, the dumb alien communicating through holding a person telepathically, the dumb letting out space ships to kill everyone. And of course the retarded climax with them uploading a computer virus through their 90's era computer that somehow disables the motherships defenses and shields and causes a chain reaction so all the other ships malfunction too. Plus the romances and character cliche's in the movie were also awful. It's not even fun to watch in a "It's so bad it's good" kind of movie. Oh well, at least it gave us Will Smith. |

Justice league Gods and Monsters. Totally different origins, and I liked it.

Despite Cubed's opinion about ID4, I thought that it was a decent movie, despite the fact that I have yet to see Resurgence. However, I did managed to see The A-Team movie for the first time yesterday.
