Should Nick's TMNT series adapt Archie comics stories?
Fred Wolf's Turtles were unique, mainly because they were a ultra-kiddiefied version of the Mirage source (changing all but the barest parts of the premise).
The 4kids series pulled from the Mirage source material more closely, and still gave us some original stories, too. Now we're on round 3 of the Turtles animated this time from Nick. Do you think Nick should take it's cues from the 4kids series in one regard and adapt from the comics, only this time use the Archie issues? I mean, parts of what we know about the Nick series already is slightly Archie-esque (April training to be a she-ninja, Splinter being Hamato Yoshi and having an extend backstory as such) so why not finally adapt some of the better Archie issues? What do you guys think?

I think that's quite an inspired idea, actually. Archie seemed like what the Fred Wolf could have been if it didn't lose sight of being an actual adventure show, a goofier version of Mirage that was still fun. I still love the first season for what it is because it still tells an actual story, albeit not perfectly. From what we've seen so far, it seems like Nick is going to go for that balance, and pulling from Archie would be a good idea. I still hate that Shredder design though...

Nick could do a lot worse than adapting Archie's stories, to be certain.

I wouldn't want it to rely on it, but there's a good amount of stories I'd love to see. Like the Warrior Dragon one.

what do you want to see?
I believeve it will be better if Nickelodeon makes another show that will be the complete adaption of Archie comics, instead of adapting some of the stories in this show. 4KIDS had some episodes that were adaptions of Mirrage issues but most episodes were new stories. |

That would be cool. As long as they adapt the best stories from those comics and mirage, I'll be alright with it.

Or they could even adapt some of the UK exclusive Hero comics along the way since they are in the same canon there. I especially would like to see Ray Fillet. There were even some other storybooks, such as the Magic Crystal that never existed in comic book nor animated form.

Not really. I love the Adventures books, but I have no real desire to see them adapted. I'd like to see this show do its own thing.
This I could definitely get behind. Bring in some TMNT alum to voice the future turtles. Get Josh Pais for Raph. Hell, it'd also be awesome if Rob got to do Raph again in that scenario. |

I think we all just want to see Armaggon animated. It's bizarre that a cool shark mutant from the future is relegated to the comics and one videogame instead o being a major character in a show.
I know that when I was a kid I thought Armaggon was the greatest thing since sliced bread. |

Maybe a few, but I'd want Nick to come up with its own tales to share mostly.

Yeah, I want Nick to be its own thing for the most part, but I think it'd be really cool if they adapted a few Archie stories.
Yes, Armaggon would be pretty awesome. |

Says the kid who has probably never read the Archie TMNT comics...
And I did mean the Archie TMNT Adventures books and not stories with Betty and Jughead.

I haven't read Archie in awhile, but from what I remember I always enjoyed the series...a lot of the plot lines were pretty memorable...
Personally, I would like to see Adventures #49, where Donnie gets abducted by aliens. I think it'd make for a great reworked cartoon episode. I also think a re-telling of Michelangelo & Merdude would be sick. |

The two stories it would be great to see altered for a television version would be TMNTA#23-25 and #42-44. Anything to have more Armaggon!

If they did adapt the stories they'd probably have to leave out all the Middle Eastern stuff. I doubt that would be risked on a children's cartoon show in today's political climate.
