People are surprised characters from the Nick cartoon didn't get figures? It's no different than the 2k3 or original cartoon characters that never got toys.
Playmates always stops making figures of notable characters after we get halfway into a cartoon. |

It's even worse when the figures are shown but never released.

Nobody is surprised, just disappointed.

Wolf Mikey is on Amazon. Not available, but listed. Did we ever get good pictures of him? All I have is the low-rez one of the entire booth. |

Dont judge me, i received this as a thank for fixing the neighbors car. I look at these and think they are garbage, couldnt even sculpt the belts all the way around, or paint all the way around, virtually no articulatuon and Raph seems to be fighting gingivitis. I think the Titan series (which i believe they are mimicking here) has more articulation then these. All in all cheap cheap cheap
thye even had to Photoshop the bo in Donnies hand because the actual figure cant hold it the way they show on the back of the box Last edited by go_ninja84; 10-13-2018 at 08:53 AM. |

They seemed to be working out that action feature with the brain going up and down in the tube when all they really needed was a smashing arms feature.

I don't recall any cancelled figure actually being on the card backs from actual releases.

Yes! They were on Targt.com... teasing us... taunting us. Much sadness.

Mega Construx made a great Ice cream kitty and a acceptable Spike that are closer in scale to the Playmates toys. But disappointed that we didn't get more of the female characters. Would have loved more of the season 3 characters like the other beavers, and most importantly the Creep. I would love a Creep figure.

There's definitely the dreaded sense that the figures most of us are missing may not get more shipments. It's mostly irrational paranoia, and in all likelihood we will see more, but rare figures become rare in years past for reasons just like this. A toy line winding down, the company pulling out, wanting to move onto the next thing, etc.
However, I can't imagine Playmates doing nothing for the Christmas season. My hope is we get a few good solid shipments out there around the holidays before the book is closed on TMNT 2012 for good. =============================================== So now that the toy line has a finish line, and we know every figure we'll ever get, I'll go ahead to do a retrospective. Figures I'm most disappointed not getting: Shinigami, Alopex, Kavaxas, Jei, Chromedome, the other Dream Beavers, Mona Lisa, Creep, Wyrm, the animal pack, and War Horses for Leo and Donnie (come on, seriously!) Figures we got that I would have traded any day for any of the above characters: Attila the Frog (laughable) Napoleon Bonafrog (many will disagree, but I hated this episode, and the character is weak) Kirby Bat Robug Ooze Flinging Turtles Savage Mikey Water Spitting Raph/Mike Turtles that transform into weapons The new boxing/kicking turtles (horrible sculpts!) Rahzar (I'd rather he never double-mutated in the show, but that's a different topic) Head-droppin Turtles (unless they were done better) Tongue-Poppin' Donnie (They couldn't come up with a different gimmick from Mikey? Or with a better sculpt?) Figures I'm glad we got that I NEVER thought we would: A human Karai (and VERY well done!) A revised Shredder so soon after the first one, with an awesome sculpt, and removable helmet that fits perfectly MOUSER army pack Pizza Thrower Vehicle (ok not a figure, but seriously, this was awesome) Armaggon despite his brief appearances (when I saw him I remember saying I want him as a figure, so it was nice to have) Comic Book Turtles (in the basic line? They were out of place, but very cool) Usagi Yojimbo (though I have yet to acquire one)

I'm happy we got Usagi, Muckman, Armaggon, and the Beavers. Even if those figures were terrible, it was the thought that counts.

Wait, what? How are they not getting a set?? (Sorry if I'm late on this knowledge, I haven't kept up with this thread in a long time.)
Took at peek at my Walmart just yesterday and their amount of TMNT stuff is still extremely limited, but I did see a war horse set, one each, for Usagi, Raph, and Mikey... no Leo or Donnie and I figured they were either already grabbed or just not out yet. (I mean, what store puts out just three things... surely the rest are still waiting in a box to go out and these three were just loose and on another cart.) But that is seriously disappointing and weird if Leo and Donnie aren't getting them. (I swear they are in the new ad on tv, aren't they??) Poor Donnie gets shafted half the time as it is, and Leo? That's strange. What are the chances he doesn't get one because Usagi's horse color scheme is blue...? God forbid Leo get a blue one and make Usagi's maybe black or silver. |
