Only thing I really liked from that entire series was what they did with Michelangelo.

Agreed that it's actually one of the best portrayals of Mikey. Though I'm also fond of the Mirage, Baron, and even Fred Wold incarnation.

But one thing I love about the Image series is the experimentation with the visual element of the group. Raph with Casey's mask, Leonardo with one hand, two of the turtles wearing masks and two without. It just looked cool. Donatello's design wasn't good, but the effort was there and gave the team an interesting look without resorting to making them all different shapes/sizes.

I have to admit, drunk turtles are pretty cute.

I wonder if new readers will be confused as to why Splinter turns into Man-bat from Batman.

I agree with you entirely that their experimentation with their designs was interesting. All of their looks were striking (in a good way), except Donatello's. When it comes down to it, the extreme mutilation of Donatello is really what turned me off to Image as a kid, and as an adult. In fact, I'm currently looking to unload the few TMNT Image books I have.

Don being a cyborg made him the most important part of Image TMNT for a good while, and it was obvious as it went on he was losing the cyborg armor, AI , and would eventually just get a new shell. Like IDW Don did after Bebop/Rocksteady smashed it.

What's your point? Mutilation is mutilation. IDW just shouted out Image with that stint. Now, with "Rise," Don can't escape the shell stigma. It's a pity, really.

Did you just compare Andrew and Kevin?

Does anyone have a list of Mirage stories that have not yet been reprinted yet from either Volume 1 and 2 or Tales from TMNT?

From Vol. 1 the only stories they didn't reprint is Rick Veitch's 4 issues. "Sky Highway" and "The River trilogy." They also didn't reprint "Turtle Dreams" which was issue #41, because it had some original owned characters there from the guest artist. Besides that everything in Vol. 1 has been reprinted.

All of Volume 2 has been collected, as well as the first volume of Tales which was 7 issues.

Unfortunately the Tales V. 2 trades stopped around issue #26...and we haven't gotten a new volume in quite some time. Tales went on for 70 issues, and we only have like 25% of it collected so far. I hope they start up the Tales trades again with the stuff they haven't collected.

Hopefully. If they don't, though, you can guess the reason.

I wish they'd do bigger omnibus-like portions at once, like the Dark Horse model. 10-15 issues at a time. Maybe eventually.

These are really good news.
It does not feel that bad coming back from holidays .

Uh...you do know that's happening, right?

"Short, one-issue stories are presented in the Tales of the TMNT series that gave readers an in-depth look at Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, Casey Jones, and Splinter, but also spent time delving into the stories of background characters like Nobody, Rat King, and Savanti Romero. Collects issues #1-7 of the original series, Tales of the TMNT, and issues #1-8 of the 2004 relaunch, Tales of the TMNT Volume Two. Presented in all-new full color."

They were already fully covered in the first set of TPB releases IDW did that collected 3-4 issues at a time. This first Omnibus collection is essentially the first 4 volumes of IDW's Tales of TMNT collections stuck in one book.

An "omnibus" that's not a hardcover is a sad omnibus.

I assume that will be printing format for the third time through the material, hardcover omnibus in original black & white. The Tales of the TMNT Ultimate Edition if you will.

This is a trend multiple comic companies follow, reprinting material in multiple formats, each time adding something to make it a little more desirable so that they get people to double dip on stuff they already have (and why wouldn't they, it works!). This trend seems even more likely on licensed comics, as they have an upfront fee that they need to try to recoup between sales of new material in addition to the cheaper aspect of reprint older stuff.

Likewise, I fully expect (and sincerely hope!) we'll get a more "deluxe" set of reprints of the Archie Adventures series at some point, with higher quality scans and the minis and tie-ins included in order to capture the complete run. This would follow the trend they had with regards to reprinting the Marvel Transformers comics when they got the license.

With New Animated Adventures each of the two Omnibus got released paperback only. However Amazing Adventures Robotanimals, Tea-Time for a Turtle and The Meeting of the Mutanimals all got hardcovers. The Ultimate Collections first got hardcovers but now doing paperbacks at nearly the same price as hc. I’m confused trying to make sense out of anything IDW does when it comes to hc and pb.

I personally love a good hardcover book. I watch YouTube videos on hc releases DC, Marvel and Image comics release and hope/dream one day TMNT can get that sort of treatment.

I always wondered if that was Raph or Mike that got drunk and which one was hitting on the female alien.

In future issues, Raph drank, & Mike had love interests. So I like to think of it as cut & dry.
