I don't like Teen Titans go, just too comical for my taste, it has its moments, but I don't set time aside to watch it or try to follow it at all. The one Episode I did enjoy was the Batcave episode

TMNT reference in Weird Al's Word Crimes video.
Check it out, it's very brief reference. Blink and you'd miss it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Gv0H-vPoDc That and the song is pretty catchy to begin with.

I love this song and the motion graphics in the video. I also like the references to "The Simpsons" and Alanis Morissette's "Ironic". I've always thought that song was the proponent of people not knowing what irony really is. A few other references I liked were Windows 3.1 and Lost (which were less than subtle).

TMNT reference in Walking Dead...
I won't give away too much but for those that don't want to know anything till they watch it, I'll post it as a spoiler...
Spoiler:
I did some searching to see if this was posted. Didn't find it. I apologize if it is. |

I noticed that too. The references kept building up. XD
And it's funny. At no point during The Talking Dead did anyone ever admit he was a TMNT reference. They usually have all sorts of behind-the-scenes tidbits. Chris Hardwick pointed it out though. |

I don't watch that show because it doesn't interest me, but I think that's cool that they paid homage to TMNT in it.

Yeah, every one on the couch just kind of laughed and nodded like they didn't know what he was talking about lol. I'm sure it was all intentional though.

Found this pic on instagram, there's a character on the show name Eastman, Who was training the Morgan character with a Bo staff, He's also wearing a t-shirt with a Turtle on it that says 'Save Terrapins'. So the show has a TMNT reference.

Good thing you explained it, otherwise I'd have been without a clue.

Why would Daryl be Raphael? He uses a crossbow!
Carl might be Michelangelo, just without the chucks- he's the youngest character on the show, after all....

I spotted the name reference and figured it was deliberate when you caught glimpses of the turtle pics (not TMNT) on his wall, and of course the tee shirt.
I'd guess that the character came first, then a writer came up with the name because of the turtles connection. |

I was considering who would be most like him with persona or attitude more than weapons. Similar to why Carl would be Michelangelo based on age alone.

Morgan as Donatello...since it's so embedded now. (Back-up would be Glenn).
Abraham as Raphael. Michonne as Leonardo. Clementine as Michelangelo. <3 Carl as Mikey is awful. Mikey wouldn't murder toddlers. |

On that note, I have a delightfully-appropriate sketch cover for the occasion:

Ben Bishop (He does excellent work and is a huuuge TMNT fan). I actually had him commissioned for a GB/TMNT sketch cover, but he came up with this before he started mine and I bought the hell out of it.
