14 years ago today, TMNT launched a new series. Who remembers the 2003 cartoon? 🐢📺

Sweet! Just seen Black Nerd Comedy retweet this (because of course he did).

It's a shame time zones are a thing, because it's the 9th now in the UK.

I was only 17 when this show started and watched every episode when it debuted the first time.

Man, how time flies. This show is now 14 years old, nearly a decade and a half. It's now "retro." I can't believe it.

It's so weird to think 2003 is now nearly 15 years ago.

Goddamn I want the early 2000's back. What a time to be alive that was. I was in High School at the time, everyone was so much simpler back then.

Their Facebook had a post as well. A LOT of people put down requesting that the series get released on dvd. They responded with "Keep your fingers crossed. Maybe one day. But until then, THIS." Followed by an image of the original cartoon complete series on dvd. https://www.facebook.com/teenagemuta...type=3&theater

Right? It would have been fine if they stopped short of shilling the Fred Wolf show.

"Hey, we might give you this show that was never fully made available in the US and is now collecting dust in our janitor closet someday.... until then, here's a totally unrelated series that's been out for almost a decade now!"

I can't read that facebook link (I don't have an account), but did they say keep your fingers crossed? It's not like they shut down the possibility.

agreed its like Nick/Viacom enjoy neglecting the 2003 shows. But seriously enough Fred Wolf. There is more to turtles than that one damn show.

Exactly.

"But until the day flying squirrels tumble out of our anus, here's a full DVD set of the original cartoon that a lot of you grew up to despise! Swallow it, you filthy TMNT fans!"

I loved getting up in college to steal the dorm lounge TV to watch the episodes. Usually people were sleeping in from the previous nights partying, so I had the place to myself...

And this place really took off once that show started airing...

I actually registered to this forum because of the 4kids series. I had previously lurked here in 2002-2003 but I felt the need to make my presence known as this show was airing.

This forum was as active as the Nick section is now, with episode review threads for each ep. You can even look through the archives for the old episode review threads dating back to 2003 to see what people thought of each ep as it aired.

I joined during the 2012 era when TMNT was being revived, but I was lurking here since 2009 because of the 2003 series. Time to rewatch ep 1

This show desperately needs a new batch of releases (no Nickelodeon, your crappo 3-unrelated-eps per disc releases don't count). This series is just too good to be forgotten (well... most of it, anyway).

Yeah, I mean I have the whole series thanks to my Australian imports. But it would be nice to have a more uniform look (for seasons 1-4 at least), and I could finally ditch my ancient region-broken DVD player. And it's weird that BttS was never released at all.

Plus, new fans deserve the chance to check it out.

First it looked like it would be released two years ago, but now nothing has happened since mid-October 2015.
