Remeber that rumor about Microsoft buying ea and sony buying take two and Bethesda? Nothing happend they were too crazy to be true. IDW comics are doing well even after so long so what must happen is make the next show as serious as idw or 2012 and 2003 is and it will be a huge success. I mean.... Seriously? Making me a alien monster? At least in 2003 i was a normal alien but now what happend to me is terrible! A serious show like the ones i mentoned can start even in a few months from now there is no reason to wait for so long t make it.

I can only assume they'll air the rest of season 2 sometime in Spring. Nick has been very quiet with this show for the past few months now.

If Nick paid like $60 million then I can't see them letting go of it for much less. I mean if anything they've increased the dollars-and-cents value of the brand over what it was ten years ago, even if the overall reputation has taken a hit. I'd have to check but I'm almost positive that the TMNT brand has brought in more profits between 2010 and 2020 than it did between 2000 and 2010, so if anything Nick would probably ask for more than what they paid, citing how they "saved" it by making it more profitable even if critical reception has been mixed.

I don't see Dark Horse or the others having that kinda cash sitting around. They also wouldn't have the luxury of an entire multimedia empire like Nick; what's their track record with launching, managing and sustaining TV shows, movies, and toys on the level of what Nick has done with TMNT? Comic books are one thing, but TMNT is a "brand" that has a lot of moving parts in other areas; that leaves Nick, Disney/Marvel, and DC/WB as the only ones truly fit to be "caretakers" on the level of what would be required.

That's how I see it, anyway.
It makes sense. Not suggesting Mirage would by it back but I wonder what has become of them these days, are they still around?

Earlier this week Peter Laird decided to no longer sign anything sent to him because he does not frequent the Mirage Studio office. It only has a staff of two Dan Berger a woman named Katie. They wrok on Mondays and Wednesays part-time. A half dozen items gets put on Ebay most weeks. That is it as it has been for some time now. I thought enough time would have passed for Peter to use that "just in case I get the itch" clause. However, it is not the case.

Rise is done this was posted from playmates at NYCC from TNI's website

"There are no new TMNT figures shown. Nickelodeon expected to announce the next incarnation of TMNT this spring and Playmates will be doing toys for it."

Put a fork in it Rise is done

I was just about to post that, Autbot. Nice.

I have no idea as to the legitimacy of that website, but it does add up. Very interesting that they could be announcing the next iteration this Spring, which actually goes against what Tommy T. has been hearing - If I remember correctly.

They really need to more or less adapt IDW with "Last Airbender" quality animation. Make it a showpiece for the whole channel and whatever streaming service you will inevitably get picked up by or create.

I don't think there will be a third cartoon for Nick announced this soon. After Rise bombed they probably don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Rise was OK but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

I wonder if the next incarnation is that rumoured live action series.

The mistake was to make it more funny and less serious than the 1987 series and this is why it didnt do well. Make it as serious as 2003 or 2012 series and it will be a huge success.

I teach primarily 14 to 16 year olds. They love anime and action cartoons still. A overheard a conversation towards the end of class today. Students were bashing the ridiculous farce called "Teen Titans Go!" and said for some reason these creators think it is cool to crap it on other shows like TMNT. I can't sit through Rise". Asking me knowing I overheard them, they know I like TMNT, growing up with the 1987 cartoon. I told them I watched two episodes. Even giving it a second change with a villain team up was not enough and yes I could see the undfortunate TTG! direction and could not stand it. I know its just four 15 year olds, but that is what they think of Rise, "a TTG influenced crapfest that was unneccessary".

Given they're teenagers I assume those kids grew up with the Nick 2012 series? Did they see the previous two shows?

The 2012 cartoon and the 1987 cartoon through DVDs and watchcartoononline due to parents influence and the teases of it in the 2012 cartoon.

They loved Teen Titans and Justice League.

To get back on topic. I was in a book store today and saw the latest edition of Nick magazine, so I picked it up and started leafing through it, it had comics and games of all current shows of Nicktoons Holland.

EXCEPT Rise.

Apparently they want everybody to forget the series even existed.

On-topic: It reminds me of the lack of advertising and placing it at 10pm with Justice League once it became Unlimited. The last two episodes were held off to the point a season finale (season 3) aired and the season premire (season 4) aired consecutive weeks after an odd hiatus.. Remember when the 2003 series started in February and episodes 19-26 were aired up to the first part of "The Big Brawl" in season 2. The three remaining episodes should have been aired or Big Brawl part 1 withheld. Some time its poor decisions of marketing a series. It could be that.

Off-topic:I added to your thread in the Music section,Saiyman.

That was case from 1982-1993 from He-Man to Power Rangers.
