It was only announced yesterday morning that she had congestive heart failure and chose not to seek treatment. It happened really fast. This must have been going on for some time, but only went public when it was inevitable. I did not realize she was in particularly bad heath. I know George has had issues since around the time Obama became president though. Her husband is the first president that I remember and for that reason my favorite. Barbara in my earliest years was America's Grandmother. Sharp tongued yet maternal. A blow to the country and one who now lives on in history books and America' heart. 73 years of marriage and a legacy on the national stage. Godspeed, Barbara.

Well it's sad, but well, she was 92. She lived a long life, many of us may never reach that age.

RIP, Mrs. Bush. Your husband might not have been able to keep his tax promises, but at least he wasn't sued by a porn star.
