Well this is interesting. Dumbledore has been confirmed for Fantastic Beasts 2. Should be interesting to see who they cast as young Dumbledore.

Interesting. Also unsurprising.

The wife and I both loved it. Great movie. Can't wait for the sequel!

I was legit surprised by how much I enjoyed that movie.
To the extent that I'd totally see it in theaters again.

Nothing really happened in it at all. Was always fun to watch. But just a lot of running, warping around. Feel bad for Colin Farrell... pretty thankless villain, made even more thankless by the big reveal about him at the end.

Movie seems on track to have the smallest grossing weekend of any Harry Potter movie ever. But will still do OK.

You mean nothing happened save for all the world building.

A guy lost his beasts and tried to get them back, while accidentally getting caught up in Grindlewald's machinations and Wizard/Muggle (sorry, I hate "no-Maj") relations. Plenty happened.

Plus QUEENIE/KOWALSKI!

Queenie/Kowalski!

Yeah, No-Maj/g doesn't work for me either.

Spoiler:
I'm also more than a little stoked about moving the plot away from the US for more than a couple of reasons. Not the least of which being I just don't trust Rowling/"Hollywood" to handle anything even remotely Native American. Which they should, because there is no possible way that European settlers brought magic to North America.

I totally get they probably brought wanded magic with them, but...yeah.

Though, having said that, I loved the Thunderbird.

I saw this on Saturday with two friends. It made me happy to see some classic spells being used by new characters. Plus, it was was nice to see what the Wizarding World in America is like on the big screen. Rowling also provided plenty of twists in this film like she usually does in her books.

Spoiler:
Grindewald pretending to be another wizard was exactly what Barty Crouch Jr. did in 'Goblet of Fire'. Now I see what they meant by recreating what was done in that film. The entire time I was expecting that little girl to be a villain. I thought it was going to be exactly what ABC did with Cruella de Vil on 'Once Upon a Time'. Boy was I wrong about that.

Well, I enjoyed it quite a lot, and I'm looking forward to Dumbledore in the next installment.

Spoiler:
Poor, poor Credence .

I swear, Newt has some kind of wizard Aspergers. I could smell it on him through the screen.

And I adored Jacob. He took everything so well and was so sweet.

"An open casting call has gone out for three actors between the ages of 13 and 16 to play young versions of Newt, Leta, and another character called Sebastian.

They are also looking for actors between 16 and 18 to portray both Gellert Grindelwald and Albus Dumbledore as teenagers."

Crimes of Grindlewald?

Um, okay. Not the title I'd have gone with.

But no matter... Queenie/Kowalski!!!
