I'd be down with that. Football deserves its own thread.

But then where would we discuss the other sports when the important parts of their seasons are happening?

And by other sports I only mean basketball and baseball, maybe hockey, but not the other "football."

"The Sports (that aren't football) Thread"?

Baseball should have its own thread, too, for that matter.

I agree. Only because when I tried to start baseball convos back in the season, they were kinda lost, lol. I think it'd be easier to concentrate, honestly.

Just so everyone knows.
I had no idea they changed the name, that sucks. But, it's no big deal, no one calls Comiskey "Cellular One Field"

Giants-Patriots in the Superbowl.

I'm rooting for the Giants. I've become an Eli Manning fan this year. He was on my fantasy team so I've been rooting for him all year. I like how he's a quiet guy who just goes out and plays. I've been following Plaxico since his Michigan State days and I really enjoy watching Brandon Jacobs run the ball, he's a monster. I'm really hoping they can pull it off. It's amazing, they've won all 3 post season games on the road. I think the last team to do that was the Pats in their first Superbowl win.

I am not a fan of either team, being that I root for the Jets. I guess if I had to choose one team to support it would be the Giants.

One thing I am looking forward to in this game is the fact that it may actually be a good superbowl...the week 17 matchup between these 2 teams was fun to watch. Hopefully it will be just as competitive this time.

Steelers did it a few years ago.

I'll be a Giants fan on the 3rd for sure.

I don't think there has been a game quite as entertaining in the past 4-5 years as the Steelers/Colts game that season. The last quarter especially, with the way alot of those calls went.

The "non-interception" by Polamalu, the Bettis fumble, Big Ben's shoestring tackle of Nick Harper to save the game....definately a playoffs classic.

Whooo I'm really excited for this superbowl. I wanted the Patriots to play the Giants in the Superbowl. I was watching ESPN and they were saying in Bristol,CT, where they broadcast and where I lived and live nearby now, its like the Mason Dixon line of Giants and Pats fans. This is true, just about everyone around here is a fan of either team, and its split pretty evenly, so this will make the superbowl actually interesting for everyone around here for once.

Go Patriots!

My local talk radio show does a "Superbowl Egg Game", and ever since they started in 10 yrs ago, they have been exactly right. They always do it the Friday before the game. Anyhow, the premise is simple. Take 2 vitually identical eggs, write one team on each one, then put them both in the microwave right next to each other. The first one to explodes loses, and the one left standing is the team that should win the Superbowl.

Well, the results are in and the Giants won.

I'm hoping the Pats can do it but these Giants have quietly been taking care of business. Should be a good game.

Hell yeah, what a game! I'm glad the Giants could pull it off. That play where Eli escaped 2 guys wrapped around him, chucked it to Tyree, and Tyree made a brilliant catch with help from his helmet. That play will be played over and over. It was amazing. 18-1. That's pretty funny. Sitting in a room full of Patriot fans(aka. Tom Brady fans because he went to Michigan), it was great seeing the Giants pull off the biggest Super Bowl upset ever. Eli stepped up big time, huge game, shouldn't have had any interceptions. Biggest difference in the game...Eli stayed clean and Brady was under constant pressure all night long. Great D by the Giants. What a game!

Thank goodness.

I dont really care about either team, and I feel bad because the Patriots were my brother's friend's team... And it's kinda sad to ruin a perfect season...

But thank goodness. That stupid Tom Brady is the most obnoxious, cocky thing ever and I'm glad that Eli pulled it off. Nice to see Plaxico show the emotion, and Eli's brother there looking so excited for him.

I didn't care who won really, but it was a HELL of a game either way. Closest one I've ever seen. That's what I call a Super Bowl.

The commercials were lame though.

I'm not even a football fan and that game had me on the edge of my seat. Great game, down to the end!

Very, very good game. I have so much more respect for Eli watching his calm, pinpoint performance. I still don't like that goofy look he always has on his face, but he definately showed he can be clutch. Well, 2 brothers winning back to back. I forsee a time when its Peyton vs Eli. That should be good...
