From the looks of it, this pertains only to smoking bans in bars. There's no study that says it's not harmful if you're constantly breathing it in at home etc.

Smoking tobacco just seems so silly nowadays. It's bad for you, it's expensive and doesn't even give you a buzz like booze and other stuff do. An, for the record, I did smoke a couple of cigarettes just to see what it was all about... your head feels lighter for a few seconds on your first puff but then you just smoke the cig until all that's left is its orange tip/filter. Yeah I'm a bit anti tobacco, but what can I say? That sh*t killed my grandfather. |

Most cafés have an esplanade, so smokers just eat and drink outside usually. I never came home smelling like sh*t form smoke, then again I don't go to clubs. My brother did so when he was younger and he'd get home often wit his clothes smelling bad. Quote:
Yeah, sure many of us are douches as well. The thing is, we don't blow smoke all up your face/food. Actually, I hear often that smoking a cig whilst drunk feels better. |

Here in Japan, there are some places that don't have "smoking" sections. The entire place is the smoking section, so if you do not like cigarette smoke or asthmatic or have allergies, forget going to those places..

So long as it's legal I've got no issue with consenting adults who want to smoke.
That said, they're also free to do that **** as far from me as possible. Tastes and smells nasty.

People with asthma can literally be killed by an asthma attack due to second hand smoke even if they are sitting in a non-smokers section. If one of my friends is smoking out on my front porch I can still smell the smoke from my kitchen. My point being they should keep the smoke band in public facilities and restaurants ect...

I hate the debate of smokers rights vs. non-smokers rights for the fact that it always seems to ignore business owners rights
If you own a bar or restaurant, you should be able to ban or allow smoking as it best suits your costumers. Don't like smoking? Don't go where they allow it. Avid smoker? Don't light up where it's not allowed. |

Smoking is so nasty. Ever seen stuff from inside a house where someone smokes? All covered in a nasty yellow brown film.

I'm against smoking and find it disgusting and abhorrent. I'm as against smoking as I am against drinking alcohol excessively. Just plain stupid.

Yeah, I'm against smoking too. Stuffs obviously bad for you, and disgusting to boot too. But whatever gets people through the day, I guess.
Drinking on the other hand, that's alright with me. A good wine never hurt nobody, as long as it's in moderation. |
