"Insane in the Mama Train"
Wow! It was great to see the Turtles finally get serious but the mind meld thing was random. Having all them all wear red was a clever homage to their original comic counterparts. It's nice to see how much their skills have improved since the start of the series where they almost kinda seemed like ninja flunkies. Still, it wouldn't be the Turtles without hijinks which we saw in the beginning and how careless they can be. I enjoyed Splinter's role in this too. We finally got confirmation of his real identity as Hamato Yoshi. I also loved that Splinter's main ancestor was voiced by the 2K12 Splinter. I'm still not really sure what April's role in all this was supposed to be though. She doesn't seem to have much training. It was good to have there as a spy but if the Turtles had actually showed up when they were supposed to, she really wouldn't have been needed.

Ran across it this morning... forgot about this line.
"And none of us gave him grandchildren??" Cringey? Funny? Because even with the "how even??" aside, the teen pregnancy theme is totally what a TMNT series, esp with supposedly "younger" Turtles, needs. Yep. o.O Funny, but a little awkwardly creepy? Yeah, I think that's what imma go with. |

Ah, but would that not be more appropriately "will give him," vs the past tense "gave"? Hmm...

"End Game"
Things got pretty intense here. It was nice to see the Turtles and Splinter learn the value of their uniqueness. Them reclaiming their original colors was nice to see. These characters have come a long way over the course of the season. I ended up enjoying it way more than I expected. It was great to finally see the Shredder. I also liked that we got more backstory for Draxum. The only thing I didn't like was the whole B team plot was kinda rushed. Did they even get any lines? Anyway, a great way to end the season. It'll be interesting to see what they do with season 2. |
