Your white whale
The sweet "Your crown jewel thread", and "Your biggest regret" thread got me thinking.
What is the one piece you want most, the one you look for at every shop? My reponse in the regret thread made me think of mine, original Krang's Andoid Body. MISB one of those.... probably smile for a month strait. |

For years on end, it was Peter Laird/Stan Sakai art & the Japanese Turtle Saint figure, but 2014 was kind to me & I was finally able to nab them.
Outside of that stuff, I mostly long for a film prop. Anything, really.

I don't really have a white whale item. I'd love to have those Sideshow statues with the multi-colored masks. I know they're ridiculously expensive but not impossible I guess.
I'm mostly just hoping they eventually make stuff I'd really want. Like a Hot Wheels OT van or OT Lego sets.

Mine for a long time was the black and white NECA set of turtles MISB. I got those and some other long desired figures from my childhood...now I'm wondering what do I want next...I want the SDCC 2014 Movie turtles but that's not a "white whale" type of item...

Cool thread!
Realistic white whale pieces? Original production art from the first film. A Shredder costume design or key art would be killer, but I would gladly settle for a TMNT, Foot Soldier, or Casey piece. Original production art rarely pops up. The Karen Steward auction is the only recent stuff that comes to mind. I have production-used copies of stuff, but not the original art. A copy of the first draft script by Bobby Herbeck would be another white whale holy grail. I'm not even picky here. Type draft original. Production-used copy. Modern xerox. Fax. Stone tablet chisel. Scanned PDF. Whatever! I just want to read the thing. While not a white whale, an original set of production Foot arm gauntlets would be REALLY cool to display with my Foot mask. Now, speaking unrealistically, money no object? Complete TMNT 1 Shredder costume/armor. RED SPARKLES! |
