I've been reading some of the tidbits of how Lucasfilm has tried fixing some of the mistakes of the sequel trilogy, basically giving background of who Snoke was and how he was manipulated by Palpatine and basically making it so that it makes sense that he shows up in the last movie. I mean it's something and does make the movies make more sense. They still suck but counting that these movies will always be canon and there's always going to be new star wars content, it's best to just try to make the most sense out of this wreck. At least it's now socially acceptable to say the sequel trilogy sucked, no amount of culture wars could save the sequel trilogy from that unanimous decision.

If I was Disney, first step: I'd fired Kennedy for being an idiot who made a billion-worth trilogy without anything resembling coherent plan and nearly ruined reputation of the series with her dumb and haphazard actions.

Second step: stage some cosmic retcon to kick sequel trilogy out of timeline. Not necessarily eliminating Rey, Finn and co completely, just make those events non-canon.
