RISE and FALL - The countdown to cancellation.
We can't bet real money, so let's bet Pizza.
I'll wager three all dressed, and one 4 cheese and pepperoni it dies in May 2019. Go. Ante up with slices, or raise with whole pies. |

So you’re saying 1 season? I say at least 3 full seasons.

Yeah, one season seems a little short. Two seasons are pretty much expected for any cartoon. At least two or three seasons but not over eight. My guess is four or five.

Aw, come on, that ain't nice... even for this. And six months early.
Worst case scenario, I give it 3 seasons. Two to try to run out their initial main plan for it, and one to jump the shark if it wasn't working out too great. If it was rock bottom boring I'd give it one, but the modern style that looks to aim to bombard the viewer with visual craziness, with city backgrounds akin to a manic candy store sugar rush, will probably help stave off boring-ness, at least for a while. (edit: Of course, now that causes me more concern about it... being visually flashy to get attention rather than earned attention via actual effort.) Tell you what... At least run it long enough that they have time to come out with a cute figure I actually want to own, so I can have just one for prosperity (is that the right word...) sake. Don't you guys ever get bored of hating on a show before it even airs? At least wait till you see what it's like before speculating doom and gloom.

Three seasons. But after that? Will it even be remembered? Even in a negative light?

This thread started before the show debuted and I'm not sure it's justified now either. Why wish cancellation upon a show that just started? Maybe if it's been on for years and you don't think it has improved, then I might understand it. Right now though, we only have 6 of 104 confirmed episode segments, I think you can still give it time to grow on you.

I'm not saying this because I hate the show or anything, because I actually kind of like it, but it's probably not going to last beyond season 2 if it continues on this track. At least TNM will rightfully remain the shortest TMNT show? |

IDW's only real problems are the pacing issues, as it can take months and even YEARS for plotlines to be touched upon. However if you're marathoning the book and reading the collections, obviously that's not a problem. It just takes a long time for stuff to happen, especially since they always introduce characters or plotlines early and don't get back to them for months or even years later.
Besides that some of the artists take on the Turtles could be hit or miss, but I like at least 80% of the art in the IDW books. |

The more I see of this show, the more and more I dislike it.

I've only seen the first episode when they released all five on the Nick site and I can't help but think of this as some big colossal joke at the TMNT's expense.
Hopefully they'll blow through this series quickly and move onto something more appealing and respectful. |

Since they already green lit a second season, as if it has anything to do with ratings prior to premiering, I'll be generous and say I could see them trying to go as far as three seasons if what we've seen so far is a clear picture of what this series wants to be. But it would not surprise me and would be weird and kind of backwards if a third was their 'jump the shark' season, yet ended up improving it.

I think the days of respectful are LONG gone.
We've got Bay Turtles, Rise, and a more miss than hit 2012 series...i have a feeling 2012 and idw might be as good as it gets under nick.
