I went to www.TMNT.COM to watch teh trailer again and I actually looked at the manhole cover logo and realized something: the top half has symbols on it, like hyroglyphics while the bottom is just a regular manhole. I wonder if this ties into the story. I included a pic of the top part. if you go to the website you can see what I am talking about

I noticed that, too. Interesting thought... it makes me think of Aztec/Mayan art, kinda.

Yeah, like a stylized Mayan calendar.

Gah. If I tried to spot anything on there, I'd have eye-strain for three days.

Speaking of eyes, good eye on that Mayan art reference. I never noticed that until now. Kudos, ladies.

Actually, for those of you who caught the video about the game, you'll notice that
Spoiler:
The Boys do indeed go into the jungle - Probably something to do with the monsters that are appearing or something, either way, those gliphs mean something.

Cool, rumble in the jungle, turtle style.

Plus, if they do a sequal, they can make it so on there way back to the states, they hop on a flight, but bring back some unwanted slithering reptilian visitors from the jungles. Then it becomes the TMNT vs......SNAKES ON A PLANE!

(I know bad, but I just wanted to get that out there)

Cool, thanks gobo.

You know, speaking of all this ancient Mayan stuff, I just remembered something else. (maybe unrelated, and yet...)

ETA:
FWIW, here are some less turtle-fan-centric reactions to the new teaser:

Iris,

If you head over to the boards at superherohype, comingsoon, or even aicn, you'll see that even non-TMNT fans are generally psyched about the project. That's good news indeed.

That is indeed awesome. Thanks. I just thought it was cool to see good reactions at Metafilter, which I know is full of snarky cynics who wouldn't have thought twice about ripping that trailer to shreds.
