Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
JK Rowling's book Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find them is being turned into a movie TRILLOGY. It's set some 70 years before Harry Potter and is about magiczooologist Newt Scamander.

Yep, I heard about this, too. Sounds like it might be interesting. I'd love to check it out and see what transpires.

It's NOT EVEN Hobbit syndrome. The Hobbit has tons of stuff implied that you can flesh out. This book is almost non-existent!

Awesome. Sure, the book is tiny, but I heard Rowling herself is writing the script, so it should be really good as there's much you can do to expand the world and the book itself.

It's based on a book Hermione read. The physical book WAS released in book stores a couple years back. So it's based on a book that was featured in a book....

I'd imagine the movie(s) are set in the HP movieverse, but who cares when it's not going to affect that storyline. I think it's going to be quite the ride seeing Newt and his adventures.

I'd love it if the movie showed Hermione reading the book to her and Ron's young children, so then you'd have like a couple shots of Emma Watson looking a little bit older (though not near as old as she was in the epilogue of the final movie) and then you hear her narrating certain parts.

No, the book Hermione read was The Tales of Beedle the Bard. This movie is based off of one of Harry's schoolbooks by Newt Scamander. Rowling released a copy of it along with Quidditch Through the Ages, which is another book mentioned in the series.

Katherine Waterston has been cast as Newt Scamander's wife (or future wife) Porpentina, an American witch. Wonder who they'll get to play her sister, Queenie?

But what does that mean? Am I going to watch three movies about some dope searching for creatures tangentially related to Harry Potter?
This seems like little more than a qwik cash-grab scheme. David Yates is directing, too, which kills my interest entirely. |

Yes, it's about Newt Scamander and how he finds certain beasts related to the Harry Potter world. I don't know much about how it will be, but I'd certainly rather see a prequel movie about Dumbledore or the Marauders rather than this. Ah, well, I'll still go see it and if it doesn't suit me, then I won't see the rest.
