Godzilla 2 confirmed and monsters

My only thing is... after this movie comes out, how are they going to top this? King Kong vs. Godzilla even seems like a step down.

obviously by having Kong and Godzilla team up to fight destroyah and have Gamera save them

I may be remembering but I think Legendary only has the rights of Godzilla for 3 movies and the King Kong VS Godzilla counts as the "third" movie so unless they make another deal that will be the final one in the "monsterverse" at leas that has Godzilla in it, I'm sure they'll continue with other monsters if there are any.

And while it might be more epic to have King Ghidorah, to most the movie will just be some random monsters and a giant butterfly. King Kong is a bigger name even if he doesn't feel as "epic".

A bit of a spoiler but apparently Godzilla is going to be destroying historic downtown Mexico City in the new movie!

They will be filming next week and I'm going to see if I can see anything cool but I guess it'll be difficult since all the streets will be closed, It'd be awesome to be an extra but I don't know how any of that works and I'm guessing all of that has been taken care of months in advance, I wish I had known about it.

Just watched Kong: Skull Island so I'm excited about all things MonsterVerse right now

We're just over a year away from this film's release so I hope we at least get a poster some time soon, maybe this summer

I know Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah are confirmed for this film but I wonder if we'll see any other kaiju. I don't want Kong and Mothra to be the only non-reptilian monsters in the films, they could benefit from using kaijus with more varied appearances

For a future Godzilla film how about a Godzilla Battle Royale?

After the incident in Godzilla vs King it is decided that they can’t keep depending on chance that Godzilla can win his fights

So it is decided to create their own Godzilla

Three teams are tasked to create their own creatures in the case one creature can’t be controlled.

Using the data collected as well as the Godzilla corpses from the first movie three monsters are created

1. The military base team create the ultimate weapon: Mecha Godzilla
2. A team that is studying monsters like ghidorah/Mothra has one corpse to clone: SpaceGodzilla
3. A nature/mutation team uses the second corpse: Biollante

The idea of the three teams was in case something went wrong with one monster they could use the other two to destroy it-

-they never expected all three monsters to go out of control. Then it becomes a Mexican standoff between the four creatures.

The end Mecha is destroyed but is salvageable (becomes kitty later) SpaceGodzilla is destroyed and Biollante is nothing but a corpse.

The twist is that the Godzilla used for Biollante was pregnant and in cloning her reveals they accidentally cloned her pregnant as well.

Inside Biollante is a seed/egg. And inside is the clone mutated Godzilla.

That seed in her stomach is now the embodiment of mankind’s sin.

This is your American “Shin Godzilla”

And this is what leads into the next big Monsterverse event: Destroy All Monsters

Can't say I've watched them all, but most of the time humans were mostly just there and monsters were front and center.

Monsters are as forefront as these films are

There is actually a few Godzilla films that has less monster focus than this one.

You can't have a monster movie with just monsters destroying crap as fun as that may sound, it doesn't work. The trailer looks hokey but that's pretty much the only route i wanted them to take this on, Toho already beat Godzilla 2014 with Shin Godzilla in a serious take on the franchise, so might as well go all out and shoe horn their dumb monster universe.
