Not posted any work in progress for a while but this is what I have been tinkering with of late (among the many other wips I have on the go sigh), my recycled turtle lair.

Found an old garage playset on the street

took it home and cleaned it up

and gave it a coat with some spray paint

old cod liver container with craft foam

tiolet roll tubes, craft foam and spots of hot glue to make the rivets

base coat of spray paint

The lair so far

top most layer is going to be splinters meditation area

the dorr is made from a bit of disposable bbq mesh, cardboard and hot glue

turtle van parking?

as you can see the scale for the lif is not ideal but I think it works

and thats it so far, I have plenty of ideas to expand on it and add to it

as always, thoughts, comments and critisims welcome

Love it, love seeing Turtle Lair designs. I've actually lost my work space, including areas to display, due to the fact I have a baby on the way in a few months. Not that t I mind the sacrifice for that, hopefully they'll be a fan as they get older and we can work on things together.

Great work on the lair, you certainly have a talent for spotting the potential in that discarded playset! Look forward to seeing more!

or build it now with "they'll grow into it" in mind, isnt that how most parent bought toys that were really bought for them works? congrats on the new arrival when it arrives

Thanks, I hate to see toys go to waste when they can be recycled (or at the very least given to charity)

On am unrelated note, I'm looking forward to the complete product, as well as some of those other figures.

never mind that i have a massive backlog of unfinished customs on the go i couldnt help but start cobbling together a turtly non-heinous hotrod

as you can see, there is still a lot of work to be done but it will be built from scratch

I can't wait to see finished products. You ever consider doing some slightly scaled up Turtles?
