Yeah, but if they're wealthy and don't give a **** about TMNT, I don't blame them for keeping it secret.

Would you want ****ers like Mew or cybercubed showing up at your house unannounced?

Yeah, that would be annoying for sure.

So interesting!
Will keep in mind if I ever step in NYC

I had written the following as a potential new thread, but after a brief search figured it could drop in here.

As follows...

Hey guys, I’m planning a trip to NY at the end of October. Although I’m only there for 3 days I’m wondering if any of the locations from the original film were shot on location, that I could perhaps visit? The main ones I’m thinking of are when Raph leaves the cinema, trips up the 2 muggers and also the Subway station “Shut it” scene. Are these real locations, and if so where? They’re probably not that interesting to anyone else outside of Turtles fandom (including my fiancée) but to me, I would love to see these places.

The other movie locations I’d like to see whilst I’m there are the Ghostbusters fire station and the NY public library (Ghostbusters). Also I’m guessing the fountain where Venkman waits for Dana is NY somewhere too? I heard the fire station is currently under maintenance and covered up, anyone know when this might be finished?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

This is excellent and actually answers a lot of my questions.

Bear in mind though I have zero knowledge of New York...be lucky to find even a couple of these places...

CyberCubed isn't even that bad, he just has a lot of opinions that people here don't like.

Check out the East Warehouse over on Lairdman Island. You'll get your answers there.

Reminds me a little of this famous film house about two hour drive from me. Something like 15 thousand fans visited around the time of the 30th anniversary. Now I guess it's closed. The chamber of commerce reported theft, litter and the list goes on.

This is actually a brilliant piece. Using the info from this, plus Google maps, it's actually quite fascinating and also surprising to me. For example, the opening shots are all within a few streets (or is it blocks) of each other. Which obviously makes sense, the guys trooping round with cameras and equipment to get 'city shots', they're going to be as economical as possible with their time and distance they have to travel.

Also the Raph/Casey scene...that whole passage from Raph coming out the cinema to him chasing Casey down the road, all shots are within a few metres of each other. It actually could have really happened. Cinema, mugging, park, chase. We can go to the exact location and act it out if we wanted!

I don't know why I'm so surprised by all this, I guess my preconceptions as a kid that they go out to find the best locations even if they are not near each other, were wrong! It's all about efficiency!

I like it. And to me it's all perfectly set. God I love this film.
