Watching something I haven't seen in a long time made me happy: the series finale of TMNT 1987 Divide and Conquer (and on the 20 year anniversary of when it first aired).

Had a pretty good day. Got some major cleaning done last night. Rotating the table 90 degrees has done remarkable wonders, and the cats approve. Speaking of them, they got flea baths today. All of them. Not only are the fleas just dropping off them, but Mink is now extra-fluffy. Found a tick on Bubba though, but we killed that dead too.

On Tuesday, we should be getting a weapon of mass destruction against the fleas hanging around in the house too. Just a heavy-duty spray.

Yeah, my sis told me about this yesterday and I thought it was cool.

Happy maker: That we found a laptop cord for my computer so once we buy it, I'll have my own cord and I won't have to borrow Mom's anymore which I'm doing today as she hasn't gone to Best Buy yet.

Also that the occupational therapist is going to see about getting Dad to stand on Wednesday.

I got a cavity filled and it went much better than expected. Even after being anxious at a dentist appointment for the first time in my entire life (I was an odd child who adored my dentists). Just started to not feel numb on my lip.

Same thing happened to me recently. It wasn't my first cavity filling, but it's the first time I had the procedure done in my current location.

The time spent searching for the junk I needed in order to change a couple displays around at work. Granted, it is a bit of a grind, too, because christ that place is disorganized! But killing some time hunting for stuff in the back, away from where most would want to be bugging me, is a welcome break.

11/8 - Happy maker... election day and the fact that this campaigning nonsense is over.
Spoiler:

Finally getting to today feels sort of like the final culmination of a really bad relationship that ended with very prolonged angry sex, and then the 'big o' ended up rather weak and disappointing after all that.

Also I actually got an "I Voted" sticker for the first time ever. And since we didn't go until after 4:30 when I got off from work there were no longer any lines.

Yep, now we no longer have to suffer through political ads that are just a waste of time. So happy for the outcome and now we can move forward.

That I got to leave work a couple hours early today- we were pretty dead- got to do my grocery shopping done and got home by 2, so the rest of the day is free!

Also the X-mas gift my mother-in-law sent us finally arrived- his and hers Amazon Fire tablets! Woot! Stiil have to set mine up but between this and the new phone I will be getting soon, I will be able to bring my game files with me to my D&D games now, so I might start running a few sessions of my own again!

Apparently my review wasn't processed, and so my raise/cost of living increase is only only five months late.

Cannot WAIT for that back pay to come in.
Also, I'm kicking major butt in school right now, so soon will come the tuition reimbursement.

Still on track to be debt free by New Year's.

Tastykake glazed pies. I was only vaguely aware that they'd started making these. Not bad, a lot like the old Hostess ones.

Had me wondering if Hostess is never interested in a return of the TMNT pies, perhaps Tastykake might one day try it? After all, they did do a promo for this year's film with their new mini cupcakes, etc, so they seem Turtle friendly.

That post about the commands for the Android flashlight app had me playing around at work today, using a straw as a pretend wand a la Harry Potter. (I was bored- sue me. Also, wasn't lumos the light spell they used?) So after exhausting my meager knowledge of HP spells I started in on a few from Gargoyles. Like the city of stone spell Demona used or the Phoenix Gate spell. Just for fun I decided to look up translations for them (most are in Latin and mine is rather rusty) I found a complete list of EVERY spell used in the series! Now I am thinking of using a few of them in my Tale of Two Clans fic. Yeah I know Im wierd; this is what happens when a writer gets bored at work on a slow day.

I had a long walk with my dog today, had him run free around in the snowy woods. Loads of fun, and we met a 9 week old puppy which was very exciting.

That Dad is doing very well in physical therapy and occupational therapy and even stood on Wednesday. It wasn't for long, but it was still good that he did it and that means he's trying.

Have off work on Thanksgiving.

Granted I have to be at work at 5:30 in the frigging morning the next day, buuuut... I think that at least saves me from being there the day before, and I have an awesome manager who is considerate like that and gave a number of us the day off.

Friday will be a trip though. Prob won't even go to bed, just take a nap Thurs. evening then just stay up.

I went to a presentation at my dad's building, with a lecture by one of the Apollo 13 astronauts, Fred Hayes. Didn't get to have a real chat with him, though.

One of my dad's students won an award - a student that I designed something for. And she liked it so much that she's using it for the company she's already started. So I've offered to do more work for her if she's using my design.
