I knew that stuff was prob just plastic pretending to be food. lol

edit: Had two little pieces of Swiss left in the fridge so ate half of the sub. Still not enough to do much good. Their subs are acceptably okay I guess, but nothing I couldn't just make myself since the turkey was just deli meat and that's all the sandwich even tasted like.

Definitely prefer the subs from the longtime shops owned by a couple Italian families around here... last I had was fresh cut turkey (not deli) and amazing Swiss.

Any car guys have suggestions on making a vehicle gas cap a little easier to remove?

I mean, I appreciate that it seals well, but I often end up using two hands to try to turn the darn thing and ended up with a skinned, bleeding knuckle today. Therefore is a grind...

People have no patience anymore.

You come into a restaurant on Sunday during after-church lunch hour with a large group and you expect to be seated and served immediately? “How much longer? How much longer will it be? Are we close to being sat yet? Now? Now?”

This ain’t McDonald’s!

Losing Fast Play in the Illinois Lottery. Just a minute ago, I got a free play to play a game online lottery called Pyramid Of Gold, which is where you need to match numbers on different rows on either of 2 pyramids. I was 1 number off from winning the top prize of $15,000.

What grinds my gears about this is in the past I would always win at least something, but now I'm getting nothing and it happens so often that you can predict it. I really shouldn't complain about losing a game that was for free, but I am because I like to feel good to win something out of it, even if it's just $3.

Besides playing those free Fast Play games on the online lottery site, the only other time I play is Lotto and I get in when the prize is past $6M. I always replay the same set of numbers, because I always win something back in Lotto and it doesn't cost as much to play Lotto where the prizes are much higher than Free Play.

Brings back memories... I miss WebMillion, that old free lotto/game site, it's the only one I actually won a buck off of once. lol

Used to love Pogo, but now that I got a new PC and checked it out again, I see that they never bothered to make new versions of all the Java-based games they retired that I (and many other people) loved. Sometimes I really want to go back and play that Bingo, Keno, and Lottso again. I'll never forget you, favorite O70 ("Oh, Stephanie") Bingo ball. lol

Grind... anyone else got a Boomer who will spend long periods scrolling FB and videos on a phone, at full volume, and then finally decide to get up, putting the phone down STILL playing some loud, really obnoxious sounding video looping over and over... Today, I don't even know wtf it was, like an inside shot of a powered spinning brush being fed through a tube/pipe of some kind and the sound, prob made worse as phone audio, was horrific. Just why. Expressed annoyance, even brother-in-law, the master of loud, annoying music, commented when coming through, but all she had to say was it's where she stopped. Why not just close it? Hit the power button?? Bad thing is, preserving battery charge isn't a factor and doesn't concern her because she keeps it plugged into a cord right there at all times when home, which is most of the time. (Even though she pretty much killed the prior phone with that and the battery swelled.)

I swear, I think the best threat to Boomers is a reminder that their kids (and grand kids) know how to delete all of their apps! And most of them probably haven't a clue how to get them back.

And if not that, I can probably find an annoying (to her) video to play loudly at length right behind that recliner as payback... Don't make me break out the dental office sounds!

You know what grinds my gears, when people write/type "would of". There is no would of. It's either "would have" or "would've".

What grinds my gears is when people type in acronyms such as LOL, HRU, LMAO and ROTFL. People use them online a lot and I don't always know what they all mean and yet the user expects you to know.

Take "LOL" for example, it could mean either "laughing out loud," "lots of love," "League Of Legends."

If you think that's bad, it was prob 15 years ago that I'd overheard a young teen or two verbally SAYING "BRB" to a family member in a store. It think it was around then that I realized that teens had become quite lame. lol

LOL, LMAO, and ROTFL/LMAO are all "ancient" enough now as far as Internet lingo goes that those are automatic for me. But I haven't a clue what HRU is and there's some others I sometimes have to look up again because they haven't stuck.

I think I finally got SMH remembered recently and that it's "shaking my head," not "so much hate" as something else had me once believing and causing that in many posts to not make sense. lol

All I can say is WoW! lol

I assume people are just confusing it with the pronunciation of "would've."

Now "I could care less" makes me laugh inside every time. Oh so you DO care then?? Make up your mind.

Ooohhh, ty. lol

4/25 -- The fact that the local Medicaid dental coverage for adults (which I know we're lucky to have even basic coverage for and for a long, long time we didn't used to) offers a $2500/year coverage... yet it won't cover a crown. I'm sorry, but paying for care is paying for care, so what difference is it if it's $1800 for a crown or for fillings?! They allow that much (AND are supposedly going to start requiring a small copay), but all I'll really use is about $300 or less for the year for a couple cleanings.

I'll tell you what has been grinding my gears and that is my PC keeps cutting off the Internet signal. The signal goes off, but once I put the PC in sleep mode and then back on, the internet goes normal again. So I know it's the computer and not the wireless set up. If it was the Internet signal, then why does it come back after I awaken the PC? It's been doing this to me all day and it's real annoying because I can't properly watch a YouTube video today!

Ugh, why can't auto magnets still be a thing and with THICK magnet material?

Have had an old faded hibiscus magnet on the hood of my Jeep forever covering and protecting a dime sized spot of missing paint.

Of course, because it's been warm the past days, I decided yesterday to give the Jeep a quick wash after work and I always remove that magnet to scrub off the outline of stuck on tree pollen, then leave the magnet off until things dry.

Left it sitting at an angle on my Jeep on the plastic fender so I'd hopefully see it in the morning and remember to put it back. Could I do that? Or course not. So presumably it fell off somewhere on the road. Unfortunately, not on mine...

The thing was old and I've needed a new one, but I just can't FIND any. And after having it this long and my mom had given it to me I feel kinda bad about it laying on a road out there somewhere.

Bought a sheet of other hibiscus magnets last year to cover a couple other small spots, but the darn things are so thin I clearly won't be able to remove them now without destroying them.

Where the hell are the thick auto type magnets at?? And the same kind of thing, nothing that looks stupid...

One other thing that grinds my gears is when the weather forecasters hype up strong storms to build emotions by being dramatic. It upsets me because I fear weather that gets out of hand, especially with tornadoes. It makes me feel endangered when I hear the sirens blaring nearby.

I completely understand if someone feels the stress they felt was unnecessary if things turned out fine, but it's not a perfect science and they HAVE to err on the side of caution based on the weather patterns, etc they study every day, because it's too dangerous not to. They aren't being "dramatic" for sh*ts and giggles.

Like lifeguards at a beach going "Hey, there's sharks spotted out there. But bites aren't that common, so go have fun with them!" Yeah, no, no one wants any deaths on their hands because they failed to do their job sufficiently and didn't issue all the possible cautions they should have.

Tornado sirens, I assume? At least you have them. We don't, we just have to hope that we happen to catch the warnings via tv or that our phones care to pipe up about it (for some reason mine more often does not). Tornadoes may be less common where I'm at, but we still get them and usually see a number of warnings through the year. Does stress me out, but if I'm home I just grab a few important things and put them in the basement just in case our asses need to make a mad dash for it.

I'm weird though, I'd absolutely love to see a tornado in person... but from a distance and somewhere it won't hurt anything.

Never been a risk taker but I'm more inclined to be disappointed if exciting weather fizzled out... lol Don't want any damage, and hearing of any or harm to people is sad, but on the other hand... a part of me always looks forward to hurricane season to add some excitement. But I guess we can afford to feel that way locally since it's a pretty safe spot.

some obnoxious birds have taken up residence in the tree the hangs over where I park and have been using my car as a toilet.

I have suggestions on doing the opposite. I've installed lockable (like with a key) on both of my last cars. Otherwise people in the old neighborhood or around Seattle would just siphon out my gas.

I seriously had thoughts of that during lock down when people were hoarding like crazy, fearing they might start stealing gas out of tanks. Luckily it didn't come to that.

Every day I check Target's site, and every day it's a always a "no." Is 3 months not long enough for the Ronin Leo figure to start showing up in stores..?

What really grinds my gears? Hmmm... Ah! Here's one! Dumbing down your resume so you can get hired at a company! Way before I started my business, I used to fill out job applications like the next guy. Out of all the years I've been on this earth, I've noticed that employers feel threatened by a person's educational background! Especially if you're a minority! Employers will often give you a bull crap short interview just to prove that they at least spoke with you. When I dumbed down my resume, I was always the first pick to be hired and to start work immediately. It shows you that many employers are the friends of the higher ups in these companies. They want people to trample on and use in order to get ahead. When an applicant has superior intellect and is of a different race, employers feel threatened and inferior that you may replace them if hired. I'm thankful that I'm my own boss!

That is bizarre, too much of it is too controlled by people who simply want power or no competition. Like if they can't hold their own, then maybe they suck at it and should be replaced if someone does it better??

Reminds me of back when I worked for a short time at a small franchised sign shop in the early 2000s. One of their questions to me was whether or not I intended to open my own shop, so they were most concerned, it seems, about not having more competition. They were assholes though, so maybe I should have. *evil grin* Or maybe they're hypocrites who did that themselves and worry about the same being done to them. If they couldn't deal with some competition, then maybe they weren't so great at it??

Still annoyed at them to this day, due to what seemed like suspicious hiring practices. Was a couple who owned and ran it and no one was working for them when I was hired, but a young guy was added soon after me. There was a training binder we had to go through, after which we'd be 'official' with the company, get a small pay increase and get company shirts. The guy got through it before I did... then he disappeared. Once I completed it... yup, I was out too. Always believed they were probably repeatedly doing this to people, using them then dumping them.
