It's characters like those that I'm concerned regarding the coloring; anyone can color the four Turtles and Splinter. Those colors are known; safe...

Volume 3 looks to be taking to coloring a lot better than Volume 1 or Tales; probably the lack of duo-tones, but I always kinda felt like Volume 3 looked like it was being inked with the possibility of colorizations in mind from the start.

But like Cylons said, the real test is going to be how OTHER characters will be colored. Will Digikore finally start using the covers for color guide references, or are they going to be making up pallets wholesale like they did with much of their Volume 1 and Tales work?

I'm hoping they put a bit more effort into this and at least look at the covers instead of diving in blind like they usually do.

Except for Deathwatch. Dude looks like a Christmas tree had a one-night stand with a Terminator.

I'd be fine with a less-than-faithful coloring for that guy.

Just looking at those first two pages, the coloring makes it seem more...Mirage-ish, kinda? I dunno why, but now it really does seem like Mirage Volume 3. Maybe because Volume 2 was in color and now this being in color feels like a direct continuation of it, (which it technically was at the time).

Good, the Turtles don't have different skin tones. Doesn't look bad.

I'm halfway worried we're going to see rainbow bandannas on the other Turtles on the insides of these. I'd lose my sh** if I saw that.

They didn't do it for Volume 1 or Volume 2 colors, relax...

There still might be residual confusion that "These are the Image TMNT" and not "These are the Mirage TMNT."

Maybe.

Considering only Leo and Mike wear their bandanas for most of this series since Raph's face is burned and Don becomes a cyborg, I don't know why you'd fear that.

Maybe.
Raph's hockey mask and eyepatch will both be red.

Donatello's cyborg armor will be purple.

Leonardo's mask will be blue.

Michelangelo's mask will be orange.

Rainbow power!

That small glimpse is really pleasing to my eye. More so than I expected based on previous colorization's by IDW.

It nearly breathes new life into the series. Can't wait to see more. I really wish we could speed up the wait to the conclusion though. I think those issues have a chance of feeling like Image TMNT in a more modern era. Excited to see how they turn out.

I'm not sure, but since Image characters appear in this book often aren't they "forced" to make sure they color them correctly? I can't imagine the Image writers who will be writing 3 new issues to complete this series will be too happy seeing their characters colored incorrectly. Like if Savage Dragon is suddenly colored blue or something, it would be weird as hell.

I don't expect anything like that to happen though.

I wouldn't take it to mean anything. Many variant covers have zero connection to their interiors (a trend I strongly dislike). It's nice art though.

Jesus christ... even the letters on the belts? It might as well have Bebop and Rocksteady on the cover.

I did not notice the belts.
Maybe Frank will draw the letters for the last 3 issues .

It's super insulting. Does this mean we can start getting alternate covers for IDW TMNT comics with all-red bandannas, if fair is fair?
