If you just have it be a high tech disguise mask, like in Mission Impossible 3, I'd believe it.

Hell, the technology already exists in the MCU.

I didn't mind GG's armored look in Spider-Man 2002 even if it looks hokey as hell, less said on Harry's suits for both Spider-Man 3 and TASM 2. The latter made him look like a human gremlin.

I wouldn't read too much into the whole 'home video footage' aspect... I think they just want to do something fun and different. Make it stand out a little among all the other trailers you might see in theaters.
I still can hardly believe Spidey is finally in the MCU.

It's all about promotion and keeping whatever is being promoted in the news cycle for an additional day.

It's just annoying. I'd rather see an actual teaser than a ten second "teaser-teaser" clip. I could wait an extra day for something with some meat to it.

In a way I prefer the teasers to the actual trailer, in that I get the taste without the added threat of being entirely spoiled for the movie.

I don't know about those goof-ball wings. I guess they had to find a way to differentiate the merch from the Andrew Garfield stuff.
