I guess contemporary. We're not religious, so we're getting married at the venue for our reception. It's an outdoor wedding.

I've been off the forums lately, mostly because my grandfather is bedridden in his house, he has people taking care of him, and he's fine for now. But very sick.

I have to rant a little.

My main job got a new boss back in December, and things haven't been too swell to put it nicely.

we've been lacking wares, and the shelves looks like a nuclear holocaust have happened as almost no one cleans them. Very often it is me and two other that end up once a week cleaning as much as we can muster. It is exhausting to work there ever since the new boss came around.

Now, for almost 2 years I have been working for another store as well. it is a rival store, but my old boss gave me the thumps up as long as it didn't interfere with my main job, the second store direly needed more people as they where only 2 employees, 3 including the owner.

Now the new boss of my main job, landed a bomb that I am working for the other store is not okay, and gave me an ultimatum.

This is on top that I don't get fully paid on my main job since I have to leave 5 minutes before schedule. I always manage to help closing the store before I leave, except on Saturdays, I have to leave right before we close because the bus goes when the store closes.

Now, I'm okay with it, but it is still nagging that I don't get fully paid, because I arrive early enough to work that I could have been fully paid for my hours, but the new boss says no. we do not get paid for arriving early.

it's not about arriving hours early and except being paid for that, but at least i could be paid for the minutes I lose when I have to catch the bus, so that I get fully paid. But no. This isn't just me, there are a couple of more employees that also have to catch the bus. But her answer is "get a car, or wait for the next bus" But we have to wait for the next bus for 1 hour to 2 1/2 hour, depending in which day it is. which means I'll be home around after midnight.

So not only do I not get fully paid, but now I have to quit one of the jobs, which makes it impossible for me to live in my current apartment, since with both jobs I barely makes things go around with rent and the student loans.

The glimmer of hope I have is that I might get a full job at the second job, if that happens I'll be better off then having two jobs, or staying at my current main job.

Damn Candy. I hope the other place offers you full time. I'm sorry the boss at your main is being awful. Is there no one else you can speak to to explain your situation? Getting your check cut into simply because the bus schedules don't exactly correlate is unfair. Making you wait that late at the bus stop is a safety issue, and being so flippant about transportation really pisses me off, personally. Not everyone can afford a car, or even want one. Why do some people think it's the only way of getting around anywhere...\

Sorry got off track. I hope it works out. You can always ask that your student loans be slightly deferred, since it sounds like you're underemployed. They offer that. That way you can build a buffer and not get put out of your current apartment until you get things sorted. Then you can go back to paying the amount you want to pay.

But yeah, fingers crossed that the other place offers full time, so you don't have to put up with this or go through all of that.

hey everyone, sorry that i havent been around much. things have been totally crazy around here and just when they started to calm down i was hit by a nasty upper respiratory infection, bronchitis, pericarditis combo... still, as i said, things are improving and getting into a new normal

you'll be glad to know that i just represented our fandom at the most recent Steel City Con... sooooo many turtle fans of all ages were out this time

Well, Grandpa is finally taking that medicine we begged him to take. I think what did it is the fact that he's gotten worse instead of better. Usually, he feels better after he eats, but he didn't this past time. I just hope it works, though he should have taken it sooner.
