Have you ever tried Sports Betting on the outcome of comic book fights?

Everything after Splinter showing up was way, WAY better than I was expecting. I've never read any DC, but is are those stylisth 'animated' backflips a hallmark of regular Batman books? It was cool as hell to see a fight where all the movements seemed to have so much weight behind them!

I have been reading the Batman ongoing and don't recall those "stylish" moves

Anyways this book was better than I expect. Defiantly my favorite TMNT book thats come out in a while. This 2nd issue was far better then the first issue. I loved every second of it.

To be fair, the turtles are like...what? three years old in this continuity? I would be embarrassed if he were beaten.

So if the TMNT characters are meant to be some non-canon version of the ones in the IDW series, does that mean Shredder is doomed to die in the DC universe? If being there will eventually turn the mutants into normal animals, then the life giving effects of the mutagen that keeps Shredder alive might also wear off.

The writer for the story apparently does have the idea of "where it takes place" in the IDW canon; so it will probably end with a "reset button"

Full summary and review of Batman/TMNT #2 at TMNT Entity.

The issue was a bit front-loaded with action, leaving the second half to be nothing but info-dumping. That bit of pacing aside, I'm enjoying the setup so far.

Tynion's using Batman's extended cast really well and the TMNT vs. Batman fight looked great (even if the Turtles didn't give a very good showing).

at first i was very disappointed when i heard the main Batman villain for this event was going to be Penguin!
but i'm a lot happier now seeing that this is The Shredder's show and Penguin is just a supporting character in all this.

I do hope we get one of Batman's fighty allies at some point. One of the former (or the current) Robinseseses, Babs, Cassandra, Steph... hell even Bluebird.

It was a good moment seeing Shredder get Penguin under his thumb that easily. I think we will finally see a team up next issue once the intruders are discovered.

Did anyone feel like it read too fast? I finished it in 8 minutes.

not me! i really took my time reading and savoring it! ^__^
especially with just how beautiful the art was!!!!

and that fight scene i kept skimming back through to see if the Turtles actually got to Batman aside from Raph butting Batman in the gut with his Sai handle or Leo kicking Batman in the side after his Katana snapped.

the amount of emotion Freddie Williams put in the facial expressions was brilliant too!

one of my favorite panels in particular was the very last one!
the looks on all the Turtles faces was PRICELESS!!!
especially Donatello's!!!
if it'd been zoomed in i'd swear you'd see tears of joy in his eyes!!! x'D

The art is really good. I don't know if its possible but it would be good to see this artist work on more TMNT in the future.

The fight against Batman was well done because it wasn't a total curb stomp and Leo/Raph got hits on Batman. I wonder if Splinter would have been able to defeat him.

I also loved Shredder/Foot taking out Penguins men already. I'm eager to see where this goes next. Mike loving Batman and making that chart and wanting to play with the dinosaur was great too.

yeah, it would be pretty awesome if Freddie Williams could maybe do a small arc for the TMNT ongoing?
he has a very exaggerated/dynamic/stylized look that brilliantly lends itself to the Turtles and Splinter!

hahaha! 'curb stomp' i like that!
but yeah, if any of the Turtles would get hits in on Batman it'd make sense to be Leo & Raph. or as the 2012 series nicknamed them "the A team"

Another solid piece of art in the form of a TMNT/ Batman book.
I am loving this set up. I do not want to comment on story per say as some may not have read it yet. Enough to say that it does not disappoint - it's visually stunning, exciting, dynamic and - funny!!
I do hope they release a hard back of the fished story, as I'd like to keep this one in that format.

These threads are specifically for sharing your view on the story, DVD. Anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled would be a fool to view it. So by all means, tell us your thoughts, if you'd like!

You make a very good point !!!
First off - my reaction to beautiful full page art of Shredder with Penguin. That page was worth the price of admission alone.

Gags - best gag was the blackboard pros and cons, adding up the awesomeness of the Batman. I really liked the quips thrown in there.

The batman character comes over very well. He is the tough guy, but I am enjoying the little questioning touches: even he doesn't quite get these Turtle dudes.

All in, I am enjoying this story a lot.
