Blade Runner sequel to be released in 2018

The Blade Runner sequel is happening, they will start filming this July, Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling will be in it, it's expected to be released on January 12, 2018.

It's interesting that the sequel will be released on 2018, just a year before the time the 1st one too place in, which was 2019.

My interest level in this just went down big time with the casting of Jared Leto. Ugh.

I wonder what wacky behind-the-scenes antics ol' Leto will be up to this time, in order to 'get in character'!

Leto: what if robots have feelings and stuff?

Director: oh my god.

He's probably stuffing extension cords into sheep as we speak.

He was probably "tricked" into this one too. But don't worry, his performance will disappear... like tears in rain.

This film certainly looks like it has potential. Hope they don't screw it up.

I have faith in Villeneuve to deliver a good movie.

This movie will have trouble making money if that rumored production budget is true though. There's no demand for a Blade Runner sequel.

EW has posted a new featurette about the movie, and it shows a ton of new footage.

Has anyone noticed the Atari logo? looks like Atari is still around in the future.

Well Atari is making a new console called the Ataribox, so looks like it'll be a hit!

I really liked it. It’s impeccably made, beautiful to look at, and it feels like Blade Runner. It’s a real movie too. The script doesn’t read like a little golden book, and it’s not just set pieces strung together with shot/reverse-shot exposition.

Just saw it. Definitely an entry on the "best sequels of all time" lists in the future. I did miss Vangelis a bit, but the soundtrack was perfect for this film, so it was fine. Plus, when a Vangelis piece did show up, it was done powerfully. Like that last scene, which legitimately had me choked up a bit.

"All the best memories are hers."

Have you guys seen it? its that good.
I put it off for a bit until the reviews came in, but once they were glowing, I made a point to. I think we're going to end up being the minority until it hits DVD or Blu-Ray, though. The film's ended up with a bleh opening and probably won't do much more than make its money back.

It kind of irritated me at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I understood. The promotional campaign for this film was kind of garbage. It relied entirely on nostalgia, assuming everyone had seen the first film and went "look, it's Deckard". The trailers told us nothing about the film ahead of time, to the point I didn't even know what the movie was supposed to be about going in, aside from "more Blade Runner". I can imagine that enticing the more casual theatergoers among us.

I'm glad that the marketing for this movie didn't spoil it, there are things that happened in the movie that would be difficult not to spoil.
