Bizzare casting choice, for sure.

Not sure what to think, suppose it would work if they do it right, though as it stands he just doesn't say Baxter to me.

Was never a character I had much interest in through any version so I can shrug it off I guess unless Baxter takes more screen time than what's reasonable.

I suppose they'll link some of April with him since she'd have known him as a kid, if we're to assume that one guy in her old videos was Baxter.

I actually do not have any problems with this. Tyler did an excellent job in Gone Girl. However, I just know Black Nerd Comedy is going to have a field day with this announcement.

Ok sorry I didn't think of that but we only got 4 new characters to introduce so far and originals from the 1st movie won't need much introduction. I expect we won't see Bebop and Rocksteady until half way though the movie and I bet Baxter will only be in a couple of scenes.

The model and basket ball players are only cameos and probably last under a minute so thats why I didn't include them.

His performance in "Gone Girl" was one of the few things I liked about that movie, though I should say it's the only thing of his I've seen.

Do you count the Dock worker April tries to interview in the first flick a character worth mentioning? I wouldn't even bother mentioning the basketball players that will no doubt be nothing more than a cameo.

We also don't know the capacity of any of the new characters. Casey will no doubt be a bit of a beefier role, and possibly Stockman. But Bebop and Rocksteady may not be in any more than a handful of scenes (created halfway through, 'trained' and final battle?). They may just be introduced and setup for the inevitable 3rd movie.

As long as the script is tight (wishful thinking, I know) those characters CAN be balanced. Let's be hopeful that they are/will be.

Thank you, guess my computer hates putting videos on for some reason.

Anyways, I feel Tyler is an odd choice, but he might be able to pull Stockman off. Sometimes when it comes to certain heroes and villains being adapted, the actors we disagree with pull off an awesome performance. (ex: Heath Ledger as the Joker) I only hope Tyler can pull off the role, Baxter is my favorite villain and character in the Ninja Turtles franchise and I don't want him to be screwed over.

Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman? I can get behind that, Baxter Stockman is always a wacky character, And I think Tyler Perry can pull it off.

Having Baxter Stockman in the sequel, Solidifies the fact that, He helped create Bebop and Rocksteady.

It could also mean, The sequel will have Mousers, Which I can totally see happening, As he would use them on Master Spinter of course.

I'm so unsure about the future of this property since 2009. It just gets weirder and weirder.

I don't no much about Tyler Perry and the only movie i've seen him in, is Gone Girl and he was very good in it so hopefully he's a good choice.

He is most notably known for playing a strong, loud female character named Madea - trust me, stick with GONE GIRL, the 'Madea' films are NOT worth the price of admission, let alone a discount DVD.

I thought Stockman made a cameo in the first. Fox made a big deal about it.

Why recast the role?

I never even heard of these Madea films, I don't think they were even shown here in the UK.

But yeah I won't be watching them if they do end up on tv over here.

Tyler Perry was amazing in Gone Girl!

I'm just glad we finally got Baxter Stockman in a TMNT Movie regardless of the casting choice.
