Another "smart" deconstruction, I assume?
Come the **** on! Its like every janny in Hollywood suddenly decided they have a talent of Lynch or Kubrik to **** out deconstructions right and left.

I suspect something like that. Like, Hudson was overjoyed and glowing about the Afterlife experience. But after 2016, later on he was saying the same thing, "It wouldn't be what I would've done," politely. Now he's saying it again. Which isn't to say he's a great arbiter of Ghostbusters greatness or anything. But it's definitely a little bit of cause for concern, particularly given the cast. And that Reitman didn't want to direct it, in the vacuum producer-wise with his dad gone to maybe insulate things a little.

This is being discussed on GBfans boards. I speculated it could be that Winston plans to open up franchises with other teams in other locations. He does say new stories and Kumail Nanjiani said before it feels new and the world is bigger.

I would love other teams in other places. There’s so many settings you can have hauntings and supernatural events. It’d be really cool. It would give us new movies while the Prime team/cast do other things between doing GB.

Anyway it’s pure speculation. Whatever it is he doesn’t really like it I guess.

If anything having more GB teams is not harmful. It can be very interesting, if handled right.

Afterlife was dickriding nostalgia, which was kind of a late realization of hopes for the Ghostbusters 3 with OG crew and a failure of Fembusters, but I feel like at this point they can move into a "new direction", which means new team hunts ghosts, while being overseen by OG Busters. Their presence in the movie should be enough fanservice as it is.

Basically something like Extreme Ghostbusters, but without 90s EXTREME gunk.
Ah ye Extreme Ghostbusters, I can dig it

The Strike has caused it to be delayed

Quote:
One of the other major films that they decided to delay just so happens to be their upcoming, untitled Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel. The Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel is moving from December 20, 2023, to March 29, 2024.

I think it was going to get delayed regardless. They haven't really even announced it at all, or know what it's even called.

Ya I think Dan and Ernie both mentioned it could be moved to next year even before the strike. I think it was gonna move either way.

I’m disappointed but it’ll benefit the movie. Better to not rush anything. I just wish they’d reveal the storyline. Imo the strike should not prohibit that. It’s basic info and they’re done filming.

Leslie Jones is still angry.

https://comicbook.com/movies/news/le...6-reboot-book/

Mostly based on anon users on stuff like Instagram sent her bad messages, I guess. If 1 internet psycho types a message to you from the billions in the world... I guess that needs to be weighed and considered and correlated against anything the director of the new thing says.

The biggest issue on the internet is propagating this stuff for the "rolling outrage". I'm all for informed-opinions, especially when they shine a light on the nuance of awful-human-behavior - but honestly sometimes I wish as a whole that people would stop giving a forum to some of this stuff.

I feel sorry, if she received some harassment, which might have been a case. But beating a dead horse after all of this years? Its like she wants to be harassed again by the trolls or something.

Well, I guess, if you are that desperate for attention...

I don't feel bad at all. She's just talking about mean posts about her on social media, she doesn't deserve one iota of pity. Suddenly turning people making mean posts on the internet -- which is something that's existed since the birth of the internet -- into some kind of social currency (victimhood points) should be laughed off the stage or at least not so much as even humored.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree, but if it we are talking about massive campaign, where hundreds of people constantly harass you on Internet, it is unpleasant, to say the least.

On the other hand, in the modern day the are a lot of people who want to claim they were harassed, just to get pity points.

That’s my point, yes it’s a shame about the online harassment, but get the f**k over it already

I don't like the "harassment" either. But the Power Rangers generation re-wrote what harassment is and now it's been weaponized to the point of insanity. "They criticized my movie and my feelings were shaken (oh, excuse me I mean 'shook') and ergo, I was 'harassed".

That is what these people do, and they had that nonsense amidst maybe the couple truly harassing things that people might do. Basically any action that does not praise the Power Rangers generation rattles them so badly that they can't cope - although that generation will deny that completely. And it's a tremendous cross-section of that generation and younger who are like this.

Plus, they also magnify it. One person (as in literally ONE person) can something as simple as 'your movie sucked and you suck' and they turn around and turn into 'countless people wishing dead upon me'.

Like I do feel sympathy for people getting harassed on the internet. Unless the person committed an actual crime (and not just being a dick or in this case being in ****** movies) they don't deserve it. But people pretending they're 'harassed' and using it for attention and victim points, no sympathy. It sucks because it's hard to tell the difference.

Exactly this. To both points. The only thing I question is the number of times the weaponized-offended basically just lie as opposed to actually believing their own bull$#!(. Both instances are pathetic, but you know.... what's the truth of the behavior?
