If it sucks, it'll go away fast. If it's great, there'll be a couple more. My focus currently is doing the best job I can on Nick's TMNT which I'm sure will have its detractors too. That's showbiz.

That's a gentleman.

But I would like to say that I really don't see anything wrong with people being against the alien turtles, despite the fact that the film hasn't even been made. I hate the idea myself, and I don't need to watch the film to know it. I'm not saying the film will be crap, as we obviously don't know, but even if it turns out to be great, I will still feel like alien creatures from outer space are not Mutant Turtles.

Glad someone in a past Turtle cast is using Earth logic, which is somewhat of an ironic term with this issue. But then, hey, accusing Bay of childhood animation rape and sodomy sells more papers. (I hope I typed that out right.)

Good for Paulsen, though. Classy response from a classy guy, right?

Agreed. This is why he's one of my favorite voice actors. He's a way past cool dude.

Also I dug a little in this thread but what are the direct source links? Maybe put them on the first page or something please.

I think the source link is in another thread. The one that states that Michael Bay might ruin the Turtles. The source link should be on that first page.

As for Rob's post, he has a point. While we may not like the idea, we have to wait and see how it goes before totally ripping it to shreds.

While I'm pretty certain the movie will look good, I doubt that it will be anything grand for us older fans.

I guess the best adaptation will always be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990).

A bit early to state that, isn't it? For all we know, this could be an epic movie that blows us away! That's what I'm hoping for - and by all accounts thus far, it sounds like that is their plan. 1990 will ALWAYS be my favorite universe of the TMNT....and will always have a special place in my heart. I will have my kids watch that first, before any others. It's also special because it's now a period piece....it takes place in the late 80's/early 90's at roughly the same time the TMNT were first made up, and so speaks directly to how they live in that world at that time. That is something that no re-boot will ever be able to capture.

However, I do expect a lot from the re-booted series and we might get some really fantastic stuff as a result of new blood, technology, stories, etc!

Assuming the right VFX houses is doing the job such as ILM or WETa, I would love to see CG turtles, not really for the flash acrobatics and fighting scenes (which is still cool) but we can get to see more intricate emotional performances from them.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes is good example but also the Hulk in The Avengers for some real cool action scenes
